Always thought glancing in from the outside that Stoke fans were very content with where they were under Tony Pulis. But just browsing on that oatcake fanzine board, it turns out that alot of Stoke fans are completely disilliusioned with Pukis. They want him kicked out for his negative approach to away games and they say that he has no ambition. Seems like maybe his supporters outnumber the critics, but only just.
Do you think the critical Stoke fans should be grateful for where he's brought them to, or are they right for wanting him out for an apparent long line of away performances like yesterdays?
Stoke fans bitterly divided.

Renewals are up soon are they not? Don't think they can base prices on whether we get CL or not.

Next season has to be the one for us I think.
Like Castor says, can't see any major departures, so hopefully get rid of 4-5 outstanding dead-wooders, and get in some real quality to challenge the Manc sides

I don't think the majority of the fans want Wenger out at all. Any grumblings go towards the players they don't like (your Santos', your Ramsey's, the scapegoats) not Wenger. I heard some people yesterday going on and really complaining about Koscielny, about how he wasn't good enough and was sent off every match etc etc.
I think fans would be happier in general if the tickets didn't cost as much. Most of the chants that are anti-Arsenal are just anti-high tickets.

Santos, Arshavin, Squillaci, Fabianski, Mannone will all 100% leave.
Bendtner, Denilson, Chamakh, Park and Djourou will all leave too if we find buyers.
I can also see Sagna, Vermaelen, Rosicky, Diaby and Gervinho all leaving too.
So that could be anything up to 15 first team players out of the club which means another massive squad overhaul for the 3rd Summer running.

I agree people haven't given up on Wenger yet, but failing to finish in the top four could tip the balance. However, I am quietly optimistic that if we can hang on to players like Podolski and Cazorla, and if Wilshere and the English cohort continue to develop we will have a very good core around which to build a team, something which we have been missing for a while. I really, really would like to have seen Fabregas and Wilshere play together longer, I think they'd be absolutely sublime together. If we can finally rid ourselves of the players that simply aren't going to feature in the future (by which I mean Chamakh, Arshavin) and replace them with decent squad players or even just good youth prospects, I think the team will be a much happier place, and we can kick on from there.
The current team is actually quite good, it needs time to gel before we will see the best out of them, but there have been signs in recent games, and if we could get an FA cup it would do the world of good for our confidence. I happen to think we have been incredibly unfortunate not to win a trophy in the last 8 years, we were by far the best team in the league before Eduardo's freak injury, we really should have taken Birmingham more seriously, and a more clinical performance from Henry (or a less abject one from Almunia) in the Champion's League final and we would have beaten Barca with 10 men.

Only problem is that we have been down this road so many times with wenger, hoping that he would change up and address the weakness we have in the team but he has always disappointed so I can't really see much happening.

He's not going to throw money at things to try and come up with a quick fix, you're right. That has never been his style. He'd much rather try and find a long-term solution for next season than fix this season's shortcomings, so events can quickly overcome his strategy. But is that necessarily the wrong answer? You look at teams that try and address issues immediately, and more often that not they fail to fix them or cause other problems.
I agree it's frustrating, but I'm not sure there is a better answer, SAF might be able to throw money around and take the best players from other teams, but we are simply incapable of that. When we've tried we've ended up with Francis Jeffers and the like. No I think his strategy of getting good players that are out of favour is a very good one, it worked for Henry and Podolski, and although it wasn't Wenger it worked for Bergkamp too.

For a long time, I thought it was just me, 8bit and Kamran on this board. This thread gives me hope.

Tony pullis has spent more money than Wenger since he took over at Stoke. In fact 120mill more than AW. So the theory that AW has spent more is trash. These Stoke fans are right. When you spend that much more over a CL club and play this way it's horrific.
