Firstly I've been a Ger since 1961 so have experienced good seasons and bad seasons, but this article did not make pleasant reading for me......why?....because I worry that much of it is true

St3vie....TBH I'm not interested in Celtic's performances.....but fair play to them...raising their game against Barca and then falling off against Arbroath, is disappointing for their fans....but we canny raise a game against Stirling Albion.!!

However I do accept that this season with all it's problems and difficulties ( transfer embargo etc ) might always have been problematic. A fair % of the support expect better next season.....improvements in all departments. Assuming the SFA/SPL don't make things up as they go along to screw us up.

All this stuff is coming out becasue we got beaten 3-0 by Dundee United on Saturday

No it's not. I've been saying it for months. McCoist isn't getting the best out of the players he's got and his tactics are rubbish.

Can you honestly say you are happy playing 1 up front. At home. Against part timers?

"St3vie....TBH I'm not interested in Celtic's performances.....but fair play to them...raising their game against Barca and then falling off against Arbroath, is disappointing for their fans....but we canny raise a game against Stirling Albion.!!"

A settled Celtic team, thats been built up over a couple of seasons, with additions and strengthening done in the right areas, that has games like Barcelona too look forward, and competed very well against them, yet drew with Arbroath, lost to St Mirren, hasnt been all that convincing in the SPL either really.

A Rangers side flung together, that had no pre-season time together or much time to gel in pre-season friendlies, that had the backbone of its team from the previous season ripped out, that had limited time to fix the situation, that are having to play agasint teams like Stirling Albion week in, week out, and the biggest game they have to gee themselves up for is Dundee United away, a game that for a number at the club was bread and butter stuff last season......I'm sorry but I am not surprised a team, on high wages or not, playing under those circumstances is openly suffering from a little bit of complacency, lacking a bit of motivation, and has struggled against 3rd division sides that have raised their games against us, as a game against us at Ibrox their Barcelona game so to speak.....its not all down to the manager or the tactics either.

Things could be better, not for a minute am I saying they couldnt, but we are on track to do what we set out to...anyone that thought we would actually win a cup this season was dreaming.

We've been beaten worse than 3-0 away to Dundee United when we were SPL title contenders....it was not a good result for the club, but we've had worse, and it doesnt change anything for me really at all, we didnt win teh cup, what stage we went out at is irrelevant, we were beaten by SPL opposition at a ground we have struggled at before with a far better team, and didnt even have many fans there to support, someone want to show me where the mass surprise is???

"Can you honestly say you are happy playing 1 up front. At home. Against part timers? "

I'm happy that we are top of the 3rd division by any means.

I was happy we were 3 in a row SPL title winners and Uefa Cup finalists playing one up front and some proper boring stuff under Walter for a number of years.....coz it worked, it bred results and got us to where we wanted to be.

Being entertained at the fitba isnt my be all and end all.....success for my club is, and we are miles top of the league we HAD to win this season....so I'm happy

Real Madrid have sacked managers down the years becasue the proper football wasnt getting played, guys that won them European Cups and La Liga titles and all sorts, hunted coz the brand of football wasnt great.

They've now got Jose Mourinho in there, the brand of football he plays is CERTAINLY not vintage Real stuff, but after being starved of success for a while with Barca dominating on so many fronts under Guardiola, they did not care a jot about the brand of football being played under Mourinho, and they won La Liga last term with it.

Only reason Mourinho will get the sack now is if his team isnt successful.......yet here we are, third division Rangers, our team ripped to bits in the summer, a squad cobbled together to try and get back on our feet, and not even a season after that, despite us sitting top of the league we must win, there are people wanting to sack the manager because the brand of football he's playing isnt entertaining enough, and he's not got this cobbled together team thats playing in the third division every week reaching cup finals???

Give me a break, I mean seriously FFS calm doon

Totally agree....My disappointment comes from the poor performances of our so called 'experienced' players. We didn't compete ...well except for 20 odd mins in the 2nd half......The people we expected to lead by example, and help the young players ....didn't turn up.

Its an emotional game mate......even though I see the logic in your arguement.....and canny deny the facts.....I am still bitterly disappointed by the overal attitude, and performance of some of our players....the ones we depend upon to pull us through.

I expected a battling performance at best on Saturday, beat I expected a defeat.

I think having very little Rangers support backing the team didnt help either seeing as likely 90% of the time, whether home or away this season, there's been more Rangers fans than the opposition's.

Yes our experienced players should have done better, but its only really Lee Wallace, McCulloch and Alexander that have played in old firm games and powderkeg clashes in a blue shirt

The biggest occassions that Templeton, Sheils and Black have experienced are Edinburgh derbies, and as a part of a settled side that have mostly all experienced those kind of things, not with a bunch of kids that are tasting this kind of high tenson match for the first time, and being expected to pull them through it.

I'll say again, we have struggled at Tannadice with far better sides than teh one we put on on Saturday, the result was worse than some of the defeats we have taken up there because of that......and Dundee United upped their game for us coming too.

A win for us on Saturday was a high expectation......any tim or any bear can say what they like, for me, thats the truth

Dissappointing performance yes, but sometimes you're just not good enough, and right now, we dont have a team that is good enough to win highly charged matches like that at every turn, we will be hit and miss in such games, and we were a massive miss on Saturday

To put thing into perspective a bit, this current team we have, in my view, would struggle to win the first division.

We went to Tannadice and lost 3-0

The team sitting 5 points clear at the top of teh first division went to Dens the following day and got gubbed 5-1 by a far poorer side than Dundee united
