Sad to see, as what I have heard and seen of him (although not much) this season is that he has been brilliant for Bremen.
With Sturridge gone, Mcechran not progressing as we thought he would, Piazon of on loan (and could be in a similar situation to KDB next season), Gael Kakuta.....lets not talk about that, and a number of young defenders out on loan that most probably will not play for us......I think we are quite useless at nurturing young talent.
Maybe it's to do with our unstable management position or maybe those players were not that good or maybe in 3 seasons time we will have KDB, Lukaku, Piazon, Chalobah and Mchechran as first team regulars and I was just very short sighted., who knows!
But if we couldn't manage to nurture someone as talented as Sturridge (I'm sure there are many Chelsea fans that disagree with my assessment of Stuuridge) at this club, I do not have much hope for the youngsters we have out on loan really.

The problem is once they have a successful loan what are we going to do with them after?
Call Sturridge big headed all you like, but if De Bruyne or Lukaku come back from having successful loans and find themselves on the bench, or behind a donkey I would bet my house that they would get frustrated and then I would like to see if these players would be labelled "Big headed".
The truth is they are young, talented and driven individuals that we will fail if we don't sort something out.

We wait until they get to the age of 28 Sam and they automatically become worth playing

Give me a selfish coward over a useless Donkey any day
They don't have a divine right to play for us true, but they do have a right to be frustrated watching themselves wasted after a successful loan which ended up them wasting another year in their short careers because the useless fool in front of them cost 2-5x more. In this case....we have failed them.

Again me and you will disagree on the "sulking" Sturridge done on the pitch. I just feel as if it was a way to have a go at Sturridge because of his less than cooperative efforts with Torres at a time when Chelsea fans were in love with Torres where he could do no wrong.
I certainly saw no sulking, just inexperience in a position where he is always going to favour the attacking job, and some greediness, which is expected from a striker.

I was never a great fan of Sturridge and not altogether unhappy he's gone.
But in general young players are the future and we as a club are shirking our responsibility towards them!
