Can someone remind me...?

Did we win on Saturday?

Anyone that's been reading this board since Saturday would think we had been thumped by Accy Stanley!

Eagles this, Bogdan that. Freedman was lucky, bla bla bla. We bloody won! Have we forgotten that? Now I know it wasn't a great performance but bloody hell, let's at least recognise that we achieved something which we have barely achieved all season.

Yes there are some things that need sorting, but I'd rather sort them after a win than after a defeat.

DF needs time, he'll get there eventually. I see slight overall improvements every game. I think we have turned a corner now, but I just can't believe the negativity on here - especially after a win. You could argue that it's more positive after a defeat!

Lets be honest here, it doesn't really matter what team DF picks or what formation he plays, someone will think its wrong. All we can hope for is that whatever he goes for brings out a result and if he has to get lucky with subs then so be it. Lets embrace our luck and stick with it, rather than bemoaning the below that some people think certain players aren't giving 100%. That's for Dougie to decide.

what corner did we turn? the one where we were more than 3 pts above the relegation zone?

I agree that there has been too much negativity but one win against Burnley doesn't mean we've turned a corner. We have been so inconsistent this season that I won't believe we have improved unless we win most of our games between now and the end of the season

The corner from losing the previous game...

TRR-the only way to improve, is to try and sort out the negatives after" not" during any match we win or loose ,Eagles badly needs a rest he carried the team earlier in the season,Bogdan has struggled for a while and also needs a rest fact, and yes we did win on saturday so i am happy ,but i would have been happier if we had won by a bigger margin ,wich i think we could have done without the 2 players mentioned and 2 fresher players in there places ,thats my opinion ,but im still happy with the 3 points.

A few short years ago, if Bolton had beaten Man U, or Chelsea ...yes, folk would be queuing up to post their tu'penneth on a great achievement. Beating most anyone else in the Prem would have ' just been another day at the office ' ...

So scrapin' past little Burnley 2-1 at home in the Championship is hardly the sort of stuff to get the adrenalin flowin', or the plaudits raving ...is it? If it is ..it's a measure of how far we really have plummeted, both in terms of stature and expectation.

Firstof - you are correct to mention expectation, and I believe that comes down to how long you have supported BWFC (in fact any team since expectation applies to fans of all clubs)!!

Top 10 of the Prem is over-achievement.
Our true standing and expectation should be somewhere between 13th in Prem and 8th in Championship.

Anything lower than that is under-achievement.

So at this precise moment we are under-achieving. At the end of the season we may scrape into the top 8.

Sorry if the fans who have only know Bolton as a Prem side disagree, but we are just slightly below par at the moment.

I agree CEF.

It's wrong to pick this best season in our history and the best team in our history and then expect every season to be the same. Like you say, we overachieved, but some fans think we should achieve that every season.

Yes we are underachieving, but in real terms, not as much as some people think.

i took one massive huge positive from the game, and it was the reaction from the players to going one nil down, they seemed to really want it, and thats all i ask for.

another positive, was Dougies ability to change the system, which worked and coupled with player effort got us the result.

Im happy with players and coaching....but as youve read, im not happy with our "support"

I'm pretty much with the 'older' fans here who like me remember div 4, near extinction and the long painful haul back to the top table that followed.

for the younger fans I'll only say please be aware that we have been here before and it's not yet something to panic about. Of course we all WANT to be in the prem with a team that kicks arris and takes names (especially certain French and Scottish manager's names) but right now we aren't good enough and don't have the resources to do it.

We will again though, 'cos like Arnie says, We'll be back. He just never said when.
