PREVIEW

Nottingham Forest are hoping skipper Danny Collins will recover from the blow to the head he suffered at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. The defender had to go off with blurred vision towards the end of the game, but is expected to be fit to face Ipswich. Sam Hutchinson and Daniel Ayala are still said to be a week away from full fitness and with Greg Halford sitting out the second of his two-game ban, Jamaal Lascelles will again be the defensive cover. Darius Henderson could also be ruled out again after missing the Owls clash through injury on Saturday.

Striker David McGoldrick is understood to have agreed a permanent move to Ipswich, on a two-year deal, that he will sign in the summer. But, in the meantime, he is officially on loan from Forest and cannot play against his parent club at the City Ground tonight. It is a blow to Ipswich, who saw McGoldrick net their winning goal in the 1-0 win over Leicester on Saturday. His place in the side will be taken by Daryl Murphy, the on loan Celtic striker. Ipswich's only real injury problem is striker Paul Taylor, who is unlikely to play again this season after collecting a knee problem.

HEAD TO HEAD

Ipswich picked up their first points in six meetings with Nottingham Forest courtesy of a 3-1 victory at Portman Road in November. It was only the Tractor Boys' second home win of the season.

• It's 14 years since the Suffolk club completed home and away league victories over Forest in the same season.

• Forest are vying for a fourth straight victory over Ipswich at the City Ground, and have taken at least a home point off them in seven attempts since a 1-0 reverse at this level in December 1999.

TEAM INFORMATION

Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies is without many of his first-choice defenders for the visit of Ipswich.
Jamaal Lascelles could start after coming on in the win at Sheffield Wednesday. Up-front, January signing Darius Henderson is a doubt.
On-loan duo Reece Brown and Frank Nouble's wait for their Ipswich debuts may continue after the impressive weekend win against Leicester.
Long-term absentees Anthony Wordsworth (back) and Paul Taylor (foot) miss out.

Nottingham Forest

• Nottingham Forest continued their rejuvenation under Billy Davies with Saturday's 1-0 victory at Sheffield Wednesday, their third win in a row and 10th point out of 12 since the return of their former manager.

• The City Ground club, four points outside the play-offs, are one of three in this division hunting a fourth straight victory from these midweek fixtures.

• Chris Cohen is hoping to make his 200th league start in a Forest shirt, while Dexter Blackstock could play in the 300th game of his six-club career.

Ipswich Town

• Ipswich climbed six points clear of the drop zone with a third win in six courtesy of Saturday's late 1-0 triumph over Leicester. But if they're to complete back-to-back wins for the first time in 2013 they'll need a first maximum in five on the road, and a 200th away win in second level league football.

• The Tractor Boys still have the poorest goal-scoring record in the division, with 35 goals netted from 35 games

• Ipswich's only ever-present in this Championship campaign, Aaron Cresswell, is set to make his 150th career league appearance.

SDB/SBS - you should know better than that with our owners

I think I read somewhere that his (Hendersons) contract terminates if he is guilty (although I may have written that myself after a few too many!). I'm surprised we took him on (under the circumstances). 666 made a comment about this, and he's probably right (doesn't really set a good example to the kids, does it) - assuming, of course, he is guilty.

'kind of' on the side lines probably just makes him even more hungry as well.

If you had said that 3 years ago i would have burst out laughing.

Now billy has said he needs to put weight back on as he has gone overboard with his fitness

No you may be right SPH but i will still keep it as I did after more then a year after he left last time

He better be here for a long time though

It will be an interesting one either way though SPH with Hendo and will be interesting to see the outcome of the trial as well.

Either way need to get Sharp back into the fold again and maybe give him his starting place back! But obviously Billy will only do that if Billy S(this could get slightly annoying) puts in a shift in training!

I am just completely amazed at the transformation in last few weeks.

Look backing through the posts, those 'riots' by the Derby posters were just three (or so) weeks ago, when things looked very black indeed (squad, owners, manager, fans, everything!). Incredible. Just hope we can keep going for a bit longer.

I genuinely think Sharp is just 'ill'.

The rotation of Sharp/Blackstock/Cox with the odd appearance of Henderson should be enough for any Championship club.

And, don't forget, we could always bolster the squad by loan signings - that guy from Derby would be good...................what's his name again? The big bald fellow., complete menace. Irish chap, smells of fish, I think you'd like him SBD/SBS.
