Did anyone notice Chris Palmer quietly pack his bags and leave the club bound for a new football career in New Zealand?
All the best Chris.
He could really cross a ball and was useful with a free kick. We didn't get to see the best out of him because he did not get the chances. Throughout his time with us worse players have been ahead of him in the queue on that right hand side in my opinion. Ainsworth, Cleveland, Macdonald, Chapell to name but a few.
I am sure that I read when we signed him that he had achieved the most goal assists for Gillingham in the whole of that preceding season.

League 2 football aye? We had that standard long ago. I'm a Reading supporter BTW.
I do wish him the best of luck as well but that seems quite a sly move that does, odd one.
An accomplished crosser is what every League 2 side should want, it doesn't seem right for him to have not got an opportunity.
Seems quite harsh not to play him in that respect.

Think Palmer has been unlucky with injuries at key times in his Albion career and this limited his oppurtunities to show us what he was undoubtably capable of. Wish him well in this new oppurtunity.

I agree with Otep in wishing him well. Sadly he is one of a long list players who we didn't see the best of under the previous manager. His delivery at set pieces was at times sublime for L2 level but the rest of his game was lacking compared with others that GR can call upon, as well as fitness.
I think MacDonald should get in a team ahead of him, he came to us having played only 4 games up to Christmas. Agree with you on the others listed though.

Best of luck to Palmz I agree that some of his set piece deliveries were magic, just didn't quite do enough.
Got to disagree with you Frank, I think MacDonald has been disappointing. He has obvious talents but Morecambe aside he has produced very little (dire on Saturday against Dags) - in fact I would start Drury before him and probably Palmz before both of them! It's all about opinions at the end of the day and if GR picks him then he must see something!

Different wing I know but as a player I even think Jimmy is better than Macdonald. In fact, Cleveland might even be marginally better.

Lets hope MacDonald picks it up and proves us all wrong!
As for Palmer, will be at his testimonial. Player.
