Myself and 2,599 other Palace fans turned up, it's a shame the team didn't!
My summary of the game was that we were the better team for 40 minutes. Both teams would attack but end up kicking the ball out of play. The conditions didn't help either team and no one really got an attack going. Parr had a great chance to put us ahead but hit it at the keeper (less said about him the better!)
Their first goal was poor. Usually Speroni would have come out and collected it. I didn't see the KG foul because the crossbar was in the way but I had that terrible feeling they would score. Which they did. Credit where it's due it was a great freekick and I don't think anyone would have saved it.
2-0 down at half time isn't so bad considering the comebacks we've made. Most recently Watford. I was optimistic going into the 2nd half but that 3rd goal as a result of poor defending was the killer. The team never really got back into it and that terrible feeling resurfaced as the thought of losing 5-0 was becoming very real.
I wouldn't say brighton outplayed us. They were the better team but the result was more down to a poor Palace performance.
Now that's over we can turn our attention to getting 2nd place
Is it ok to talk about it now?

Is it ok to talk about it now?
Well I've been thinking of posting something about it myself so maybe some others are ready too?
I couldn't get a ticket unless I wanted to go in their part of the ground so I listened in on PP.
It sounded pretty good for 40mins but the nearest we got was an almost own goal from Upson I think. Comms said they couldn't understand why Wilf still tries to beat loads of players time and again but just can't seem to see the simple pass that's on and reckon he must be frustrating to play with.(That's not to imply that he is any way to blame for us losing by the way as it sounded as though he had a good first half).
Just before half time, my message alert was busy with my pub landlord texting me and extracting the urine since he is an avid weed fan. It didn't get any better.
My two nephews went and they said we didn't look up for it anything like they were. None of us could see the sense in bringing Williams off either. It was a poor display for sure but it sounds like we should be humble enough to say fair do's as they must have been the better team on the day?
My news agent (big weed) thought so. The next day he actually came running out of his shop as I gingerly walked past with my dogs. "Just the man I want to see, blah blah". So I had to listen sadly.
He thought we played better football than we had in the past few encounters(something then) but thought we began to tire after about 70/75 mins. I don't think I have read that anywhere though.
Some of the boards are saying that IH hadn't got the players up for it, not believing it to be a rivalry thing or whatever.
Well that's my tuppence ha'penny on it and that;s probably all I'll be saying.
I am worried about us being good enough though for the second spot. I watched the Leeds game and thought we were nothing too special against a mediocre Leeds team and now this.
We need to pick it up at least 50% on what we have been served up these past two games. Maybe we are too tired.over-achieving or bottling it?
Roll on Brum, let's see what we're going to do about it.

Our thoughts are with you and any other Palace fan who has to live, work or generally be around weed fans after Sunday

I think we just have to accept that the better team won (That was difficult just typing it let alone saying it to any weed fan!) and then we'll go and smash them in the play-offs!

Hi guys,
So, the only squad player that scored last wkend was Jermaine Easter...well, that was a genius move! :/ Whether Holloway thinks this was a Rival Game or not, Sunday was a woeful performance, hardly recognised some of the players that got us in this PlayOff mix - kinda fitting We played on the Sunday, as the standard was Sunday league ($cumwall are still my topspot rival nevertheless)! Least I saved £10 on another Dvd! Agreed tho, dunno why Joniesta nor Bolasie went off, while KG was allowed to stay on. As he was only effective making the wall for set-pieces...by the way - I felt sorry for Jules, WHERE THE HELL WAS OUR DEFENCE? 3-POOR Goals! & when Wilbo came on i felt suicidal Murray didn't look interested either, this was a game for Super KP to start!!!
Still, We're always be THE FIRST Club in the league to Win at the gaymex! Chin up (& the other one) fello Palace Fans...this is Our Farewell Championship Campaign...as We may never face br1-3ht0n again! #PremSeason13/14

Cheers for the sympathy Mon. It is indeed a bad time for a Palace fan to be living in East Sussex but I have reminded the deluded that this is just a one off and we hold the upper hand.
Paul your post brought a smile and I feel that we are ready to move on, lessons learnt here, IH having selections exposed, duff substitions etc. I particularly liked the Sunday football analogy.
I hope we don't get the weed now should we cement our playoff spot. I have changed my mind from a couple of weeks ago. Two things:
I'm a bit concerned that the players and IH were not up for this in the same way as the fans are, Dougie knew only too well and we have to thank him for that, wherever we stand with him now.A repeat of Sunday would be disaster and I would probably have to move back to London as a consequence.
I remember too the hassle of getting to their place and back last year and you would think it would be fairly easy from where I am, but it's not particularly.
From what I have heard from those that went, its' still a nightmare and not dealt with at all well by the police. If we avoided them and met them in the final it would be anyone's guess as to what sort of travel/fan disruption that would bring.
Anyway, a big if because they aren't guaranteed anything, the same as we're not.
Two not so good results then lately and let's hope we are not to see a mini implosion over the run in. If morale is a bit low and the Zaha ban effects the spirit too, we could be in for one.
Or, if the boys think, right let's correct that for the sake of the fans if nothing else and they see the Zaha game ban as a positve, thinking, well he needs a rest and he never passed to us much anyway, we could be going places.

The thing is, Gus didn't understand the rivalry last season, but he defo got it going into last Sunday! A bit like Ollie now. I've been talking with the Box Office about, making sure they have a record of the upcoming Away tickets i'm buying - incase We get them in the P/Os. Believe me, the Box Office Staff are sh!ttin' themselves knowing IF We finished 3rd and they finished 6th...there only be over a week to sortout what Loyal Supporters can go to the Away leg back at the Mex! & Fans will no doubt have to collect the tickets (may not post them). The Final would be best all round - against each other! However, i want 2nd, as We've never finished in that position, plus We have history with Leicester & Watford in the P/Os :/
As for Zaha, it's only Birmingham $h!ty! We have options - more than a 1-man team these dayz Up The PALACE!!!
