Although I can think of plenty of reasons not to, I can't help thinking Barton would help greatly, as would Lichaj. Other than that, I can't think of anyone else available that we could reasonably get.

Much as I've sung his praises, I think Paynter really needs to step up to the plate on Saturday. If not, SG will have to get in a loanee untill Becchio & Somma return

we are not gonna sign quality. we can not afford to pay over 15k a week for a player's wage and he was'nt even quality.

Yorkie, I was just as frustrated as everyone else, but after having a look through the squad now, we're not in particularly bad shape.

Despite needing another full back as cover, our defence is looking great. Kisnorbo's back from injury and Lees is back from a great loan spell. I agree that another left back is needed but if push comes to shove, White can do a job there. But I wouldn't be surprised if Parker and Bessone stake a claim for that spot as well.

Our midfield looks fantastic, with Brown and Clayton seemingly doing a good job of filling the hole that Johnson and Kilkenny left, and with Nunez, Howson, Snodgrass and Gradel in our attack line, we could be difficult to keep out this season.

Maybe I've got a bit of a rose tinted view on things, but I don't see any reason to panic.

Tall, agreed the squad is decent, but it isn't top four. I think we need a big signing if I am being honest.
