If you could pick a year from your life where you enjoyed music most what would it be? I always relate music, particularly chart music, to what I was doing in my life at the time.
1968 - 11 years of age living in Glasgow. Supporting Celtic, recognised by everyone as one of the best teams in the world.
Music was fantastic - Beatles and Stones still in their prime, Lady Madonna, Hey Jude and Jumping Jack Flash were three of the number ones of the year. Other classic number ones included The Mighty Quinn (!), Everlasting Love, I've Gotta Get a Message to you and Fire.
I had a loving family, great mates and even enjoyed school!
What's your favourite year for music and why?

Henrik - think you're being a bit harsh on Emelie Sande. Great singer and songwriter - good looker too! Plus my daughter met her back stage recently and she said she was a really lovely person

My favourite year(s) were probably 95/96
Britpop was at its height then, the Prodigy released Fat of the Land with Firestarter and Breathe on it, the Biggie and 2pac East Coast vs West coast thing was going on, yer MoS Annuals and that started coming out and the whole Ibiza trance scene and stuff took off, and ye had a few belters in the charts like U2's big single off the batman film, Coolio -Gangsters Paradise, Baby Bird - You're Gorgeous and some comedy gems like Cotton Eye Joe, Scatman, the Macarena, yon Spaceman from the Levis advert and the Outhere Brothers tunes
Gid couple of summers then
