Man Utd

United's next manager has a tough job on his hands IMO and I'm not talking about filling boots.

Their squad needs a complete make-over.
Players like Evans, Anderson, Valencia and co are not good enough.
Also, Moyes has never really had a big budget to work with, it will be interesting to see what calibre of player he will bring in.

Interesting times ahead. The top 5 teams might actually all be fighting for top spot for once !

Respect to Sir Alex Ferguson btw, great manager

Rooney looks to be off, RVP probably has 1 maybe 2 seasons left at the very top.

Ferdinand, Carrick, Giggs, Scholes, Evra are all getting on and sooner or later will have to be replaced.

Only thing keeping United on Top was Fergie.

Moyes is an ok manager but nothing special. Plays negative football and likes to defend first and then attack. He wont have that option at united as most teams who play them will defend first.

maybe Man Utd should have taken this chance to employ a woman as manager. It would be a big step forward for football.

Agree with you on Scholes and Giggs.
But players like Vidic, Carrick, Evra are only in their early 30s so they still have a few seasons left in them.

Looking at their young players they do have a strong core that will only get better.
Players like De Gea, Smalling, Jones, Evans who from what I've seen this season has improved a lot, Rafael, Kagawa, Hernandez, Welbeck, Cleverly are all young players who have tasted title success and will only improve as they mature.

From what I can see, United are only a few players away from really developing another great team.

Will Moyes be able to attract those players though ?

Utd have decent foundations, but I agree, Fergie was the top man in management terms in getting a team spirit and winning mentality into a club, second to none at that!

Huge responsibility, but also huge opportunity for Moyes.

I can't see for one minute Utd suddenly being at 6's & 7's in the wake of the change of manager. But certainly over time it will be fascinating to see how Moyes gets on.

Only fergie can make players like Cleverley and Welbeck look good.

Funnily enough, I've always rated Moyes as a manager - I've had plenty of chats on here about him, one or two involving ManU fans who have no time for the guy. Be interesting to see what they say about him now.....

Arseblog summed up my feeling on SAF perfectly this morning.... so if you read it you will know what I mean.

Moyes will have a tough task. Modern football fans are very impatient and if he does not get off to a flyer they could turn on him.

SAF going may well mean a more competitive league with 5 teams who could win it. or City and Chelsea could blow everyone else away...

all I know is SAF going should be a great incentive to the other teams for next season... it could be a great one.

Who are the 5th team? United, City, Chelsea Spurs and who else?

Cardiff. Obviously.
