So these three cats have been linked previously. Villa in January & once more this weekend, although word is Arsenal have focussed their attacking intentions on "younger options"
Higuain has been whispered in hushed tones previously, although on Friday night a Spanish sports outlet reported a deal has been agreed between Arsenal & Madrid (in principal).
Jovetic has been linked to Arsenal for some time, many in Italy say it's already wrapped up, whilst others say he wants to stay in Italy & move to Juventus, something the Fiorentina board will move Heaven & Earth to ensure does not happen!
Anyway, I've compiled my very own "pros" and "cons" for all three potential targets. I want to invite a discussion, no holds barred, be truthful, be brutal (if need be), but ALWAYS be respectful...
David Villa
Pros: Wealth of experience at ALL levels, proven finisher, versatility (proven as a central striker or on the left of a front-3).
Cons: No experience at Prem level, age (he'll be 32 in December, whilst not an OAP not specifically a "longterm" investment",) wages (he's used to earning his cheddar at Barce I'd imagine he'd want at least 100/150k pw)
Gonzalo Higuain
Pros: Very good finisher, has good pedigree & experience at all levels, age (at 25 he's not at his peak & logic say's given a key role he'll thrive & improve), hunger (he's been taken for granted, arguably at Madrid, scoring lots of goals, often important goals, whilst not always being seen as an automatic starter.) Given a "fresh start" he could well hit the ground running!
Cons: He'll inevitably want decent money, no Premier League experinece (although being 25 you'd think adapting to the Prem would not be a mountain to climb)
Stevan Jovetić
Pros: Very talented, a creative forward that adds that extra "magic" to an attacking set-up, age (at 23 he could learn many a trick being coached under a guy like Wenger), style (for me, Jovetic's game is very much in the Arsenal mould, clever, adaptable, great at linking up play in the attacking third).
Cons: Whilst not "goal-shy" he's not proven himself to be a "goal machine" or as lethal as the likes of Villa & Higuain. No Prem experience (see Higuain), he has a VERY pointy nose!
I hope you all had nice breakfasts, sincerely... Moist

Cuadrado is also a player to watch, Kamran has a thing for him.

We desperately need a player like jovetic and I truly believe we will sign him.

At the moment Arsenal have a comparatively small squad.
In January we offloaded 4 players with loans of Santos, Djourou,Frimpong and Chamakh. We brought in only on replacement in Monreal.
There are also two other players still in our current squad who are excess baggage namely Squillaci and
Arshavin and then of course we have lost Diaby for
at least half a year.
If you look at the size of squad once Squillaci, Arshavin and at least one goalkeeper are offloaded we have only about 20 active players and that means
we need to bring in at least 5 replacements.
Jovetic is a good replacement for Arshavin as a second striker.
However, we need also another striker as well. Both Giroud and Podolski are good players, but
neither is a replacement for Van Persie. I have also
serious doubts about Gervinho. Personally I don't consider him good enough for squad let alone our first
team.

One player I would take if he lowered his wage demands and actually was a realistic target is Rooney.
I would take him over all of the strikers mentioned

Castor.
Forget Rooney, he wouldn't come to us and there's no way we should sign him. On song he's very good but it's a complete non starter mate

Long.
Yeah I know it's a non starter but I would love him at arsenal.
We would be title contenders if we signed him

Of the three mentioned I'd take Higuain. I think Jovetic will turn out to be, and perhaps nearly already is, the better player but I think we need a proper line-leader who will just score lots, whereas Jovetic strikes me as a more creative player who would be best playing off the main striker.
Villa I think would be poor value for money since he'd ask for wages far in excess of what we pay anybody at present, and while Rooney is undoubtedly excellent on his day, he's a bit too temperamental and inconsistent for my liking.

Rooney would be incredible if we played him as a number 10, behind Giroud or some other summer signing. He would also be capable of dropping deeper into midfield later in his career.
Lets be honest though, it'll never happen.
