Relegation

BBC reporting that Newcastle and Norwich are safe from relegation. Can someone explain how this is the? Surely if Wigan win both their remaining games and Newcastle and Norwich fail to win their last it would go down to goal difference??? Am i wrong here?

Yeah, Wigan would have to win both their games to escape relegation, which would necessitate Villa staying on 40 points, which is 1 below what Newcastle/Norwich already have.

Ahhhh ive just worked it out......pointless article sorry. Wigan have gotta play Villa. Anyway.....heres hoping Wigan are down by the end of Tuesday.

It's because Wigan aren't going to beat Arsenal so they can only pick up 3 more points this season.
