Ally wouldn't be considered for the job until Man City were in the lower leagues of the Conference having suffered ten relegations.

Why feel sorry for him?
He had the the largest squad in the league made up of multi million pound mercenaries. What else did he expect if he couldn't get them playing for him, and for the badge.
He had a pathetic run in Europe considering the quality of his team. Going out so early in Europe should have made him galvanise and focus his team on the league with his competition still in Europe, but he couldn't.
His team played the usual boring Italian defensive style of football and scored a pitiful amount of goals considering the wealth of talent they have/had upfront. Balotelli, Tevez, Aguero (albeit Aguero was injured for the first half, and Balotelli left at Christmas). He rarely played Tevez and Aguero together despite them having a strong understanding of each others play.
He couldn't motivate his team to play in the FA Cup final, despite it being the only trophy they could win this season. Just not good enough.
He's also not a very good manager. At inter he had pretty much no competition. Milan were an ageing crumbling team, and Juve were still on their way back after the match fixing fiasco, he never achieved anything in Europe with them either despite having money to burn there too.
Crap manager.
