Poyet?
Suspended by Brighton.

I think we can pre-empt this and tell him not to bother applying.

He never did get on with their owner - who is considered a tight wad.
Poyet will need either an established Prem club or an upcoming club with money. He has proved himself to be not quite the brilliant manager that some lauded him to be.

How so unc?
Has had a good career so far.....brilliant? Early to say, but certainly not been tainted by his coaching abilities, its his personality that may cause him issues.

He certainly failed to reach his basic target at Brighton.

On 11 March 2012, Poyet was nominated and won the Outstanding Managerial Achievement Award at the Football League Awards ceremony, beating Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman and former Huddersfield Town boss Lee Clark.
On 16 May 2013, days after Brighton lost to Crystal Palace in the play-off semi-finals, Poyet was suspended by Brighton and told to stay away from the club pending an inquiry for an alleged breach of contract. Poyet reportedly told his players that he could not guarantee whether he would remain at the club, and also intimated that he had taken Brighton as far as he could.

Love the reference to "as far as he could".
I thought it was only me that could make that statement.

I'd still prefer an outright Championship win, but then again, we were spoiled, and expect the best, I suppose. Wolves fans have always had high expectations.
Regarding the famous saying, "taken them as far as he could", I have previously acknowledged familiarity with it. It's something we're all aware of. Our point has always been that it's fairly meaningless if you analyse it. Every manager takes a team as far as they can. Even Sir Alex.

Looking at the E&S poll running today, Powell has quite a few more in favour than against. Impressed with what he's done with Charlton so far, especially the side he put together when winning League 1.
Sven-Göran Eriksson, no less, was quoted as saying Powell "will be a very good manager in the future", back in 2010.
