3 teams separated by 12 points and we all.know that next season they will all be going for 4th place. Unlike this season liverpool will be expected to challenge while spurs have to if they want sustained progress, Arsenal tbh are just treading water and if they dont strengthen will surely be eventually overtaken by either spurs or liverpool.....its a matter of when not if. You cant keep selling your best players year after year, it will have an effect sooner or later.
The key to 4th is of course the signings to come, carzorla..sturridge..coutinho..dembele to me are the stand out signings for these teams this year, who is going to find these types of signings in ghe summer.....this is the key.
Arsenal......have the advantage in signings due to CL however they do have a modest wage structure in football terms, a club known for selling their best players and rate 4th higher than trophies....but do as close as can be guarantee 4th place......is this enough for prospective signings though?
Spurs......Now competing for 4th place on a consistent bases, well 4yrs at least; the perenial bridesmaids and not the bride, finish 4th and cfc win the cup to knock em out of cl, 7 points ahead of arsenal yet fail in the pursuit of 4th. Signings like holtby...sigi and dempsey imo wont improve the chances of 4th, they need better players but will they come and can they afford them?
Liverpool......The most ground to make up, they are starting from further back and have lost a mainstay of their defence. However, hit top 4 form since Jan and the signings of coutinho and sturridge have had a massive impact. They need defenders and a couple of top top quality players to really have a big impact, they have a huge european name but recent league positions have been very poor. Its looking up though, but will potential signings see Liverpool as a team on its way to how it used to be or, just another false dawn?
Whatever happens these 3 clubs are as close together as they have ever been in CL era, the start of next season will see all 3 hunting for 4th place.....in a way that in itself is an inditment of where those clubs currently stand; only looking at 4th.
Arsenal..Spurs..Liverpool

I am not convinced Arsenal will do anything different this summer.
They won't sell a top player, but they are not going to go out and buy enough to compete with Chelsea, Man Utd and City either, IMO.
I expect 4th to be between Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool next season. We will be outsiders.

Next year is Liverpools IMO

We have not had top four form since January at all.
Either way it is widely reported that Arsenal are going to spend big this summer.
I'd be happy if we got 5th and I do not think that will be easy.

Football clubs can't possess years Captain Ruiney. They're a shared, universal time construct for all.

As a Liverpool fan its pretty much turned out ok actually, lfc are set to actually apply some pressure to the teams above us. Utd ignore ancilotti, maureen etc and sign Moyes...whats all that about, while arsenal achieve what they always achieve and spurs fail in what they traditionally fail at.
Add in cfc and city changing manager and Liverpool may just have a slight edge in stability, who knows what effect all this is going to have next season.

we won't even come close to competing with United, Chelsea and City. Maybe not ever again.
We just don't have the cash for it.

They bought it and then sold the naming rights.
