Knock on Effect of money

It seems to be that this transfer window is going to be frustrating still for us all. And this is for new reasons.

The fact we now have more money means we are competing with the teams around us for the same players. Typically we used to go for the left field signings, and enjoy relative success in doing so.

But now we are looking to do business with the big boys. It seems to be there are fewer players than what the top teams desire.

Jovetic is a great example. Obvs both us and Juve want him, and even Chelsea are considering making a play due to the difficulty of attaining Cavani, and the failure to secure Falcao. So we are naturally going to struggle to attain Jovetic. If we are to get him, we likely will have to pay more than £20 million, which maybe a lot of money. But he may be the signing we need, and one that will send out a message. I do think we have to break our transfer record this summer.

This is why it may be a more frustrating summer for us. We may struggle to get all of our first choice targets because of this. With this in mind, we may have to expect this and be more patient.

I believe we will sign 4 players of real quality. Sanogo will be a signing on top of these I believe, so all in all we could see maybe 6 players arrive, depending on who leaves. As long as we add to the quality we have, keep the core of the group here, and maintain the same team spirit, we have the basis for a team that can have a successful year.
