Kasper off to Hull...

According to the Mercury Leicester and Hull are in negotiations over the sale of Kasper. Hull have offered £1.25m and City want £4m but they expect to meet somewhere in the middle.

In these days of over inflated transfer fees and spiralling wages I am surprised City are not asking for more for the keeper voted the best in the Championship last year. He seems to be maturing and I thought got better as the season went on. With some further coaching on dealing with crosses and a couple more year's experience I could see him playing for one of the top Prem sides.

There is a throw-away line at the end of the Mercury article that City may be looking to off load him because of his high wages. That could well be the disappointing truth.

Don't blame Kasper. He deserves a shot at the Premier League.

Not really.

They offer £1.5, we say £4m. They come back with £2m, we say £3m - we compromise at £2.5m.

One of the worst keepers taking crosses I've seen in the championship.....take the money and get some average all-rounder and stop worrying.

I actually (partly) agree with Slackous.

A decent all rounder behind a solid defence (which we have) is a good formula

I can't remember the last Championship keeper we had that we in any way thought was "good at taking crosses". They don't exist in our league. The fact is that Schmeichel got into the Championship team of the year, so he must have been doing something right.

prawns, that's all very well, but you're describing a standard negotiation there. A release clause would either be for a set amount (and if it was less that £4m, it would be utterly pointless us trying to ask for that) or the fee would go to some sort of tribunal if he wanted to leave. The latter makes more sense, but £1.25m is still an insulting offer and should be treated as such, particularly when there might be other clubs interested as the summer goes on.

Dung i am not saying we should take less its a negotiating position nothing more but if he wants to go and we need to save £2.5m then if no other premiership teams in for him that determines the price.
As for crosses etc he punches to much instead of catching but and this is a big but he saved us a lot of goals this season from his shot stopping ability that defense would not of looked so go if it was not for him
IMO

Will be disappointed but not shocked if he leaves, and to be honest wouldn't blame him for doing so.

There maybe some decent replacements for him though, Wayne Hennessey at Wolves now they've been relegated, and Keiren Westwood at Sunderland has said he may need to move to play?

Seems they are not giving up.

Apparently Hull are working on a part exchange deal with Jack Hobbs being offered back to us!
