Now before I get into what I want to discuss, this is not a Wenger out article, I have the up most respect for the most successful manager our club has had and if he decides to spend money on genuine quality then I have no problem with him staying.
Anyway, Wenger's reign can be divided into parts, 1996-2005 and 2005-2013. He has obviously underachieved in the second part of his reign. But I feel he also underachieved in the first part. I mean look at the wide array of talent we had with Henry, Veira, Bergkamp, Pires, Campbell, Cole etc. We should have won back to back titles and a couple of champions leagues. I know we were close in 06 but one final in 16 years is pretty poor tbh. Yes the two doubles were memorable occasions and of course who can forget the Invincibles whom are rightly regarded as the greatest epl side of all time. But should Wenger have won a lot more in the first half of his reign with Arsenal?

Starts of by saying how he respects the man blah blah but I knew that as usual the latter part of the article would be to undermine everything the man has done for the club. And you know what? I was right.

Winning back to back titles in a league with a Utd side that had the resources it had and with Fergie at the helm is also not as easy as you think. Could we have done better in the CL? Maybe but back then it was difficult to get out of your 2nd group stage. That is how competitive the UCL was. Everyone has like 4 top class players then. Where did all the talent go? There used to be so much quality to go around!

we were fine until Sugar Daddys took over and luckily for them clubs with Sugar Daddys they took over when they did otherwise those clubs would be nowhere right now.

I kind of forgive him for not delivering a CL trophy because he created that team out of nothing and didn't just buy stars so credit to him
