Greatest Chairman / Owner at Wolves

The thread you've all been waiting for

In my time there has been -

John Ireland - He who sacked Stan Cullis. Cullis won the League 3 times and the Cup twice. Far and away our greatest ever manager. Must have thought he'd taken us as far as he could.

Harry Marshall - Led us to financial disaster which led to -

Deadly Doug Ellis - Who led us to our first bankruptcy.

The Bhatti Brothers - who led us to our second bankruptcy

Wolvo Council / The Gallaghers - without whom very doubtful that Wolves would have survived.

Sir Jack Hayward - The greatest ever Wulfrunian

Steve Morgan - Sacker of Mick....

and TC ....

and Stale ....

and Deano

No facts have been checked in the making of this article. I welcome any errors or omissions being pointed out.

Wolfie
Sir jack did very well for us, but my memory of him will be that he didn't support Dave Jones when we got relegated and received a hefty sum of our promotion money.
............................................................................................

And are you implying that the man who rescued us, bankrolled us, built a new stadium for us, fell out with his family for us, reputedly spent £95 million of his own money on us - had his hand in the till !!!

Staggering, shameful remarks.

He wasn’t immune from criticism from some fans while he was in charge.......
Shouldn’t have spent money on the stadium before the squad – sound familiar?
Is secretly taking money out of the club – sound familiar?
Appointing people on the basis of nepotism rather than ability – sound familiar?

Everything that is currently aimed at Morgan has been aimed a Hayward in the past.

morgan is just the right side of the pair to Hayward's golden tít

How did john Ireland end up with a bleedin' stand named after him anyway?

Sir jack for me but with a few flaws....though he did make my stone cold girlfriend of the time cry at seasons end when we failed at the last.

I heard gem say that cyp didn't even buy him a pint the other day, tut tut.

Why Jack didn't give Dave Jones any money once we achieved promotion was a mystery but otherwise he was a saviour for Wolves and would get my vote. John Ireland is a bit like Doug Ellis at Villa. Rarely wins a popularity contest but the club did better when he was there

Sir Jack for me, we'd have been doomed without him. It's a pitty he didn't get the gig sooner than he did. Yes it was shameful that there was no money to spend in the prem but to be fair to him he spent a collosal sum and maybe he just did not want to spend more? At the time it also seemed like Morgan was a terrific appointment for his successor but only time will tell if he can turn things around.
