How content would you be...

With Thiago and Strootman joining, and summer business being done?

This would also include departures of at least Nani, Anderson, Fletcher, and maybe Rooney.

Thiago seems to be on the path to becoming a great midfielder and Strootman seems like he could be a better partner for Carrick than Cleverley or Jones.

Looks quite the side?

I can't say I am particularly sold on Strootman either, but he seems that he could bring a bit of steel to the midfield, and I feel that united need that type of player to help break up play and fight in midfield battles. I have heard Moyes fancies him and that he's been on the radar for a while so I figured he would be a realistic signing.

On thiago, yeah his release clause is around and I can see him joining united over others due to a regular spot in the first 11, where I don't think he would find at the likes of city, chelsea, or bayern.

Yes I appreciate what you are saying and barca probably do know what a talent he is. However when a player performs like he did in a tournament and especially in a big game all be it u21 to basically run a final like he did then it really does open your eyes and are you think.
I can see barca offering him a bumper contract and playing twice as any games next season

he did it 2 years ago, barca know exactly how good he is, thats why they want to keep him, but he has a release clause and he wants first team football, we can guarantee that for a player of his quality

Dunc what tourny did you watch?

Only Isco was better that Thiago, with Illaramendi running a very close third.

Thiago has played 100+ games for Barca and is as talented as any 22 year-old in the game.

Although Barca haven't managed his game time very well he spent the majority of the first half of the season injured, and still racked up 36 games.

If he leaves Barca will we be culpable, but you i assure you a buy back clause will form some part of the deal. Chances are if you get him Barca will promote another talented kid (Sergi Roberto) and simply buy Thiago back in two years if they need him.

To be honest his brother has started playing CM for the B team and he has always been regarded as the better player and Barca have various other exceptional midfielders coming through.

If Barcelona are forced to release Thiago because a release clause is triggered, isn't it improbable that they will be able to insist on a buy-back clause? I mean, the release clause basically says they can't stand in the way of the transfer if a certain sum is offered. Surely that means they don't have the right to set conditions. As I see it, a release clause could only be inserted into the deal if the buying club agreed to it or or Thiago insisted on it. The latter would seem unlikely. The former could be just about feasible if Barcelona agreed to sell the player at a price below his release clause and the buying club considered the discount worth the risk of losing him.

Keep Rooney and Nani. We need proven player who scores goals and trickery and a match winner on the wing. Make no mistake those two are very hard to replace. Some will say not on last season's form of course.
Thiago would be a great signing. Not convinced by Strootman. Need to see more of him.
We are Man United and I would like to see us put in an offer for De Rossi who is not all that happy at Roma by all accounts. It may seem very far fetched but then so did capturing the Arsenal captain last summer!

De Rossi would be quite a short term signing. Turns 30 in July. I'd rather shop for players who are already good but likely to get better, especially as the Carrick / Cleverley midfield won us the league and we'll have to think about another transition as Carrick gets older.
