leaving Barca? it would give them funds and a reason to pursue a move for Mata
i'm getting a bit worried about the persistent Mata rumours not going away, and i think we would deffo have a job on hands keeping hold of him if Barca come calling
fair dos, we could offer him more regular playing time, but Barca still seems to hold an attraction for players. i mean look at the likes of Song, Fabregas and Mascherano who swapped starting eleven positions in the Prem for the Nou Camp bench, and yet still seem determined to stay and try to fight for their place
anyone else agree or am i getting too paranoid?
should we be worried about Thiago

Exactly, ruiney.
Plus, Barca won't be interested and Chelsea won't sell. This rumour is a complete non-starter.

I hear Barca are in for Darren Fletcher, having lost the sympathy player in Abidal, they are looking for another.

this is Chelsea not arsenal or spurs. when was the last time we sold one of our best players to any club. robben does not qualify because as good as he was , he had massive injury problems with us. so why do you think we'll sell Mata ?

It was only The Mirror running with the story of Mata leaving and yesterday they did an article saying that Jose had spoken to Mata and that Mata is staying.
Not even The Mirror could keep up that level of BS for a sustained period. Very few people were buying it so I think they just gave up on it.

TRC, I'd love to play for Barca but I'm retiring because I've got the sh!ts.
Was that too far?

I could handle crapping myself on a regular basis if I earned that much.

The €18M quoted for Thiago's release clause would only go about as far as paying for Mata's right boot though.
