De Laurentis getting desperate?

Anyone else get the feeling De Laurentis is getting a wee bit worried that he is not going to shift Cavani, at least not for the money he wants? He thought he would have clubs falling over each other to sign the player but it hasn't happened. Now we hear the release clause expires on 10 August and DL is panicking further saying Cavani won't make a fool of him.

Panic

Wait and the price must drop.

Or keep Torres, or at least the one playing at the Confederations Cup. What a header.

ADL playing a dangerous game really. I think he wants to cash in while he can. He knows Cavani's price will never be higher. The papers say he dropped a clanger by mentioning the clause expiry date but I doubt that. He knows what he is doing. He is putting pressure on the player and saying to interested clubs that once the clause had expired the choice on whether to sell and for how much is down to him.

I don't care how much we pay for him, but if the club decides his price is too much, I would not be hugely disappointed if we go into the season with Ba, Lukaku and Torres. Hopefully we sign a new Cm and maybe another CB, although Omerau looks decent.

If we can sign him for no more than £30 million i would accept that, anything more than that and we would have been ripped off yet again for a striker.

If Cavani has his heart set on Madrid then thats where he will end up.

Knowing how they work they have probably alreday had a word in his ear about hanging on until the 11th Aug so they can get him cheaper.

Just because a team meets the release clause doesnt mean he has to agree personal terms.

Talking about Omerau, anyone know why he want off last night?? looked like a broken arm, not good news if he misses a full pre season becuaes of it.

He is worth more than £30mill.

Napoli would have to be extremely stupid to sell him for anything less than £40mill.

Question is what happens after the 10Aug??

Does the release clause go down or is it removed?

If its removed Napoli can then ask for £100M (not that they would get it) If that is the case it would appear that even the Napoli president doesnt think Cavani is worth the money being asked.

It gets removed and they have to renegotiate a new release clause with Cavani and his agent.

If Cavani is desperate for a move then he would want a lower release clause, that's why ADL's comments about not making a fool out of him.

I´d like to think that no club are willing to meet that 63 million Euro buy out clause.

It´s an absurd amount of money for Cavani and hopefully Napoli are waking up and smelling the coffee.

i'd put him at about 70% likely to go to Madrid and 15% to us and City respectively anyway

50/50

They have to get rid of Higuain and we have to get rid of Torres.
We"ll see what transpired.
