Smalling has not shown anything to suggest he's better than Evans. Nothing whatsoever. Evans is far more technically gifted than Smalling

Those of us that watch Utd know he's superior to Evans. He's a beter footballer than Evans, that's why he can play as a fullback as well.

He is also not fazed by the big occasions and isn't scared of anyone and isn't error prone like Evans used to be.

Well, i watch UTD and disagree.... Evans is currently better than Smalling HENCE the fact that Smalling gets shunted out to the right to allow him game time, while Evans is the undisputed CB choice when Vidic or Rio are out.

I hate Evans more highly at the moment, but I think Smalling and Jones will replace him and become the first choice in the next 2/3 years.

Bit harsh

Smalling is a far better defender than Evans and Jones at the moment. Th only problem is he is too injury prone and has been mismanaged by Fergusson just like Nani, Anderson etc.
When on their games he should be first choice in our defense with Vidic

Smalling plays on the right when Rafa is injured or we play against a big tall side and fergie wants height in there. Not because of Evans
