Ross Killock and others

Just back from the game at Farsley. Not a bad run out at all with some good quality football on show. Someone asked for a report on Ross Killock, I think it was Harj.

Anyway I though Killock looked pretty composed. He's put some muscle on since last season. He wasn't tested that much however whenever called upon he was steady and assured. He won all but one of the headers that came his way. Positionally he looked decent. I think we have a good player in Ross and who knows he make break through this season.

Poleon and Smith looked a lively partnership. Smith is a beast! He took his two goals well and was very unlucky with a deft chip shot for a hat-trick. Green was neat and tidy. Pugh struggled for me and will be shipped out I reckon. Brown was OK and hit a screamer that rattled the bar!

Murphy only got on briefly but he did everything well on a dry and bobbly pitch. Zac Thompson was impressive in the middle of the park. The experience at Bury has done him some good for sure. He was dictating the play and he drops in to good positions. Hunt also did well. Great headed finish and generally looked a threat despite the lack of fitness, which will come.

How did Lenighan and Lewis Turner get on?

Otley for that

I had forgot all about Zac Thompson! I think he could feature this season!

Pelts was captain in the first half. I can't recall who had the armband in the second half. Pelts played right back. We seemed to play a 4-3-3 with Poleon left of Smith and Rossco was just behind in a free role.

Lenighan looked good in the short time he had. He picked up a knock and Murphy came on for him. He's got a tall frame so with a little more experience and bulk he could be quite an imposing centre mid. Turner did OK. He was guilty of a couple of heavy touches and did get their striker on the wrong side at times. Saying that he did fairly well going forward.

Frank - Thompson looks like he has matured and he was forever looking for the ball. He sprayed it around on the deck nicely and won his fair share of headers too.

Matt Smith could be a revelation. Having said that Varney was set to be a world beater having just ravaged Bodmin Town...........

If Varney is the new Snodgrass will Smith be the new Morison????
