"I like Olivier very much. He scored 17 goals in his first year in England when he needed to adapt and I'm sure he will respond."

Giroud will respond - Wenger

Remember the 2-1 at home to Utd in 2007 when we had Henry, Ade, Baptista AND RvP on the pitch?
Well imagine what it will be like to have Higuain, Suarez, Giroud and Podolski on at the same time.
Have you imagined it?
Good. Because there's more chance of me saying something interesting than that ever happening.

No striker coming then

Moist
I have consistently defended him recently, and although I still think we need to sign a top quality forward, there is no doubt he is a good player. I hope he can push on this season, and prove all those who railed against him, completely disproportionately, wrong.

Wasn't that good a goal. Good for Ollie I suppose.

Baptista?! The worst ever arsenal player?

suarez, giroud, podolski, walcott, sanogo is good enough to win the EPL

Basically this now means no striker is coming in.
Giroud is clearly good enough and Wenger sees no need to spend any money and buy anyone else.
The same story as every other season.
Typical.

Only a friendly. Still need a world class striker.
agree. But still he can make an impact and if we really sign Suarez we have a player that is just the opposite of him and e.g. is able to play a pass in the final third. Both together could work well.

To be honest I think that Wenger make the comment to prepare OG of some competition.
