Yes it’s that time again. Time to make those overly optimistic (or pessimistic), totally baseless, wild and crazy predictions for the upcoming season.
No kudos will be awarded for predicting that United, City & Chelsea will fill three of the four Champions League spots even if you’re “right all along" but predicting Hull to win the FA Cup this season and storm Europe next would see you, if you are right of course, awarded the right to claim you were “right all along" for many seasons to come.
NOTE: If you’re entire sense of self-worth is utterly dependent on thinking you know more than everyone else put together and this prevents you from ever predicting anything ‘cause you just can’t stand the thought of being wrong this is not the thread for you. Move on nothing to see here.
PREMIER LEAGUE:
Biggest climbers:
Villa – that there Lambert bloke seems to be doing a decent job and has dealt with the Benteke situation very well. Comfortable top half finish for the team that battled relegation last season.
Biggest fallers:
Everton – Martinez is no Moyes. The bluff Scot has had a mid-table team (based on wages) performing well above their level for years. Mid-table at best with plenty of potential for a bottom half finish.
WBA – Lukaku gone, Anelka in. Bottom half finish is nailed on and a relegation battle is quite likely.
THE CHAMPIONSHIP:
Promoted:
QPR (how could they not be after signing the Makelele of the Championship?) & Ipswich (how could they not be when they’re managed by the Special One of the Championship?).
Relegated:
Blues Leec Lark is doing a good job with them but continued financial uncertainty is bound to take its toll eventually.
Wigan. Just because I like to think of bad things happening to Wigan. No other reason.
LEAGUE ONE:
Champions: The mighty Wolverhampton Wanderers. Promotion with 100+ points.
So bring on your predictions and remember – if you don’t say it here you never said it and will be unable to claim to have been “right all along".

Absolutely no doubt we will be picking up a striker, likely a target man style of player to compliment Griffo.
Will be interesting to see what happens then as Doyle will surely be the one removed from a strikers position, whether to the bench or not, who knows but for me he should slot in behind a front two.
That said we could well come under pressure to sell Griffo or Doyle, wouldn't be a massive surprise to see clubs inquiring about them.

Three such bold (by bold I mean stupid) predictions need to be put somewhere I can find them easily so that come January you can be given full credit (by given full credit I mean laughed at like a drain) when they come true (by come true I mean are shown to be utter tripe).

You don't think Doyle's place would come under threat if we pay say a million on another striker?
Griffo could of course be the fall guy but that would not help our problem, which is not scoring goals.
