Don't worry about that, as we saw last season Dougie isn't opposed to dropping the captain if it suits him and the team.

An interesting choice ... given that the vast majority of Whites fans on here have always reckoned he's not even worth a place in the team, never mind Captain!!

I think it's an interesting choice that might just work. I know ZK has had his problems but being skipper should make him focus less on himself and more on the team as a whole which could prove beneficial to all. I'm sure that some of his troubles came from that awful spiral some players get into where they make one mistake and then get so worried they tense up and make more until it's a vicious circle. Personally I think if he's concentrating on other players it might just stop him feeling some of that fear and we could easily see a real improvement in his personal play as a result. I actually think he CAN play quite well and most of his troubles have been a confidence issue. I appreciate some may see this as a strange and perhaps contradictory statement but ZK could easily loosen up and play better if he's concentrating more on his team mates than his own performances.

DF claims he is a leader both on and off the pitch. That's the quality I suppose you want from your captain. However he must earn his spot on the pitch.

We knew it at the end of last season. Doesn't mean he can't be dropped, but makes it increasingly unlikely tho. I'll give him the benefit this season. If he continues with his calamity mistakes I will be disappointed.
