12 man jury for DRS?

Atm, theres more discussion about flaws of DRS than the flow of actual cricket.
In the light of all these, could there be a solution to prevent DRS controversy?
A 12 independent jury for example in the DRS room could be used. Then, an umpiring decision would be overturned only when 10 out of 12 decides to overturn it.somethin like the judge in reality show, dance competition, etc. they could use buzzer or something.
Wouldnt it increase correctness of the decision?

Given that everybody who has tried their hand as the third umpire in this series has failed miserably, adding another eleven buffoons would just mean that each wrong decision would take 12 times longer to be arrived at.

The over rate from England is abysmal as it is.

It wont take 12 times longer.
Each has to press the buzzer within say 90 sec or so and the vote count is instantaneous which then the 3rd umpire relay to the onfield umpire.

Gymnastics style point awarding system. Little short of circus though. Not that now it is any better. Who is going to foot the bill? Broadcaster? It is matter of time before Kevin Rudd calls BCCI for a dinner party. Obviously to share the pain.

This isn't Hollywood.

I'll say it again, as I said before. We should have separate 3rd umpires, who are trained and specialise in being 3rd umpires and using DRS. Then specialist Umpires on the field who specialise in given instant responses. Simple. Those who are in the current 12 man elite panel, should only umpire on the field. Then new specialist 3rd umpires should be brought in, who are trained on how to use the system etc...

I heard Simon Taufel, who is retired of course is currently training 3 up and coming umpires. But he made a very valid point, he cannot train them for the real thing- The DRS. Simple reason being it is not offered to him for him to use and train these guys. New elite umpires who come through, whether through county cricket or wherever. They have no knowledge on how to use the system- This is where the problem starts, amongst other things.

Yes, nobody knows how to use it properly now.
Until somebody knows, the use of it should be withheld.
Only after trying various method across first class system, grade cricket, etc, and getting green light should it be allowed in Test.
Also, unless it gains universality, it should be used in no test.

i had no idea Simon Taufel retired. Though he was a cracking umpire if im honest.

Im sure he even came in the commentary box during the IPL for a few games to gives his views.

Shame none of the 3 umpires in this series havent retired.

How about getting the result right in the first place? No point in DRS if it's fallible.

How about we scrap DRS all together

ICC should bring back some of the retired or sidelined umpires to sit and watch DRS images, and decide.

Rudi for matches involving England
Bucknor for matches involving India
Hair for matches involving Pakstan and Lanka
Bowden as the supreme judge
