Soldado & Where We're At; Transfers

http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tottenhams-record-signing-roberto-soldado-i-want-gareth-bale-to-stay-8743010.html

Interesting article more so for a round up on our transfers along with outlining the potential bale deal.

Still can't figure out how much Bale is gonna for? Reports today saying we've agreed to a £105m deal which includes a player of our choice heading to us. Is that £105m PLUS a player or including the value of the player? either way it's pants down time for Perez. I know Moratta was the flavour of the day yday, but in the above article, it is mentioned that Coentrao has pulled out of Madrids game against LA Galaxy due to "muscular problems"...must be them ol' buttocks eh Fabio?!

Levy has taken the art of rodgering & mugging off other Chairmen to new heights !!

All the talk is of Ronaldo back to United.

If Madrid think they are getting like-for-like I think they are going to be sorely disappointed. Huge step down, and a probable hit on the two deals too

@Messia, agreed, I'd rather the cash, providing we sign a striker and a CB.
Having said that, Coentrao would suit our philosophy of attacking wingbacks, and can also play LW

@Numbers all hale Darth Levy!

For the record, I think Bale will go for closer to £90m, with us receiving some of the Modric money still owed coming in in January for reinforcements. Remember we will owe Saints £2-3m from this deal too. Modric Savings Account

Nicnapp, can't say i'm to upset if true about Dempsey. Scored some important goals but no where good enough in my opinion. Good luck though clint

Muswell - no you're not mate. Updates from LooksLikeWum and the total lack of credible quotes in any of these articles has me thinking he'll definitely be staying....

...though i still get the odd pang of panic.

What people fail to realise is the potential earnings for Madrid from Bale. So the price of the player is not the biggest concern.

For example, when Zidane moved to Madrid for a then record 55 mill, the president then said it was the cheapest deal they ever had because he brought in over 100 mill in commercial and image rights.

Remember that Madrid take 50% of image rights from their players so this is how they recoup their money back.

Madrid have already made their money back off Ronaldo and much more so this is why they need a new big signing.

Bale is young, talented and a sponsors dream. This is what they see in Bale.

Beckham was bought for commercial purposes not because he was a great player.....

Beckham is a chap though, whereas Bale looks like he should be in a PG tips advert.

On the footballing side he isn't a patch on Ronaldo.

Didn't their Zidane claim get rubbished anyway? How many shirts would you have to shift to get 100m?

It is not how many shirts you sell, it's all image rights to do with Madrid.....
