Luis Suarez

If there was a silver lining to last season's missed opportunity, it was that we don't have to put up with the c r a p that is the media mayhem of the Premier League.

Here's a hypothetical question for you all though. If, and it's a gigantic if, Luis Suarez was a Leicester City player and he decided that because we narrowly missed out on Champions League football that he wanted away, would Nigel Pearson and the club live it all out on the front pages?

No, I don't think they would. So why the hell do the Premiership 'mightier than thou' think that they need to?!

Whilst on the subject of speculation and transfers, it's a bit annoying that other managers are telling Nigel that agents are contacting them claiming they can get any and every player out of our club! That would be why only 2 have left then!

It is a circus, but doubtless Suarez's agent is fuelling much of it. In the end, there's only so much you can do as a manager - Moyes, for instance, wouldn't have wanted any news about Rooney to come out, but it's practically unavoidable with the press sniffing like they do. The flip side of course is that you're better protected from arrogant agents who think they can belittle your club by claiming that they can get anyone they want to leave - quite simply, if they tried this at somewhere like Liverpool, everyone would just laugh at them. In the end, they're different kinds of battles that you face at the top.

Incidentally, did anyone else see the title of this and think it might be an article suggesting we make a loan move for Luis Suarez?

no Dunge,
Brendan Rogers offered the little Uruguayan to us on loan until the end of the year, But Nigel Pearson couldn't gaurantee him first team football when we have the calibre of Jamie Vardy and co

Agents are sc*m. In it just to get as much money in their own pocket as well as lining the players pocket. Not for footballing or loyalty reasons.
Why should a player get paid his contract length when HE wants to cut it short? Load of bollux if you ask me.
