Who's genuinely excited for this coming season? I am, but from the sheer negativity on this board it would seem many are dreading it...
Yes, we might not win, but we have no entitlement to be champions, to lose to City/Chelsea is no failing, they both have superb teams put together.
Yes, we might not have got Fabregas, but Moyes has made it clear we're in for a top class CM, if we don't get one this season, I can see us getting someone like Gundogan next year.
Yes, City have added to their squad, but have they really improved? They've added in areas that were already strong, but are still weaker than us at the back. They lost Tevez, and have replaced him with two strikers who could well be flops here. They have 8-9 players over about 5 position who will all be jockeying for a starting place, that's not going to be an easy balance for a new manager to maintain.
And ultimately, we have kept together a squad (Rooney issue obviously a bit of a toss up atm) who have just won the PL. That *young* squad is a year older, stronger and wiser. Add to this improving youth movement, we have some brilliant older players (Carrick, RVP, Nani) and some superb reserves coming through (Januzaj being the main one).
So what I'm saying is, yes we might not win much this season, but the pessimism on here has massively exaggerated the 'problems' we find ourselves facing. I'm not going to say it comes from 'plastic fans', because largely I think it's just people worrying about the future of a club they love. But I do think a lot of it is people making mountains out of molehills.
Excited?

I wouldn't trade our sets of defenders for anyone. For a team that's had hardly any protection other than Carrick have done superb.
Ali, you don't know the half of it with W&R!

Chelsea hardly have any protection. Or do u classify Mikel as protection
Yet they have a comfortably better defense than us.
Plus offensively their center backs scored a whopping 25 goals last season.!!!!!!!!
As I have said earlier our fans should wake up from the limbo since 2009

Comfortably have a better defence??? They only conceded 4 less than us. That is despite that shocking 5-5 draw at the end of the season.
Yet we comfortably out scored them.
I was right. You are just a pessimistic fool. One not great season in defence and all of a sudden our defence is shocking

Now sure how this is related to having a good defense.

Err probably because we attack more so are susceptible to a counter attack.
Are you doing this on purpose or are you generally just thick

Nonsense. Bayern Munich attack much more than us yet conceded in single digit. Now don't give me fancy explanations how they have protection in Martinez etc.
Oh I never saw this "We attack more so are susceptible to counter attacks" nonsense when we were camped in our own half against the likes of Southhampton, Swansea & even Liverpool of all teams.
Or did you forget the first half of the season where we didn't wake up from our sleep unless we conceded a goal n relied on Chicha supersub goals to bail us out.
You have proven me that you don't watch United with your generic "cliche ridden" statements.
I won't anties debating anymore.

Bayern Munich first of all are a much better team than us and secondly don't have to play against the opposition we do week in week out as the premier league as a tougher league so stupid comparison.
I was right earlier. Just a complete pessimistic fool

Weak opposition?
We conceded 3 in a game against Reading a team which was relegated.
Now jog on before u make a further fool of yourself.

Ok Wayne and robin.
Did Chelsea not concede 2 to them at home. Did arsenal not concede 4 against them?
