Good news on the injury front, Robinson's hamstring injury is not as bad as 1st thought. Hes now only out for up to 2 weeks and possibly may be back in 1!
Lee Clark commented on the clubs official website:-
'We have had some very good news on the injury front regarding Anton Robinson. Yesterday we found out that he had suffered a Grade One tear of his hamstring, which means that he could miss about two weeks of football,'
'However, today he has come in and we have seen even more improvements. At the moment he could be out for anywhere from a week, ten days to two weeks. It is the best news we could have hoped for and it is only that because he flagged it up early and came off.'
Is this good news? Do you care?
My personal view is that its good news as judging by the comments he had a decent start to his Town career before coming off. Luckily it was spotted early and thats one thing postive you can say about Lee Clark, he always gets them off before potentially making anything worse. I suppose thats the advantage of having a big squad!
We have enough in this area but consistently, i dont think Miller is up to it. Cause for concern?
Robinson will be fine...

i dont care who he picks..its how he sets them up and how we play that im concerned about..
we have good players, they just find it very difficult to show how good they are under this management..
be honest, pick an 11 from the squad yourself, send them out to play with pace and pressure and we would beat port vale 99 times out a hundred..no disrespect to vale, who will give us a game if we are not up for it..

I wasnt too concerned about Robinson given the nod to start on saturday and wasnt surprised either!
Hes far better than Miller and i think its a toss up between Robinson and Johnson for the more defensive centre midfield role this season. Miller is more of a backup and Johnson is injured, so regardless of his pre season, he was a starter for me.
Someone will get a chance tonight to stake a claim in that area, most lilkely Miller, but will they take it? Ive no problem with them staking a claim and doing well, as i do want a settled side. Sends out the wrong message if they play well and then get dropped for when Johnson or Robinson rerturn!!!

Robinson got straight into the team because he's a class act and his preferred position is ideal for Towns set up with 2 holding midfielders and three up and down the pitch snipers....... jeez, I've done Gary Roberts a big favour there

Miller is not in competition for Robinsons position.
The are completely different players.
I am still convinced that Lee Clark thinks he's signed Kenny Miller.

..up and down the pitch snipers..?..have you been looking at LC's "Football tactics for beginners" book ?

I think that's what he's trying to do Jacko.
It won't work with Roberts because he wears lead boots

Tez - I thought it was quite clear, but I will try and reiterate, I don't think he deserved to walk in to the first game considering there were other players who had trained all/most of pre-season and had proven themselves. I do however dislike the fact that one of our potential top first team players is injured which has resulted in being unable to pick him, its the injury that's the concern for me and not the inability to pick him, that's simply a knock on effect.
Hopefully that's clear, I am not indecisive or being contradictory for the fun of it although I may be guilty of lacking clarity in my statement.
