ARE and shortlight will find the same thing wrong with anyone else that watched the game today.

We dont look great when set up/asked/forced to defend.
The first half we were more fluid but for very large periods again we didnt look like we were getting anywhere.
Lucas was poor with possession and silly fouls.

Where was aspas? I saw him twice. Pnce in the pre match line ups an once when he was subbed off.

Please note, i still rate aspas and think he will be useful but there were many things that werent perfect today.

These two wins have mean for the first time in ages we go into a game against a top team not playing catch up.

We don't have to sit here thinking 'christ if we lose we are 8 points behind' or anything stupid like that.

We should be more relaxed as a result.

9/9 would be brilliant, but if its 7/9 or even 6, its not the end of the world.

4 points ahead of Everton already is nice. We were barely ahead of them at any point last season.

Chelsea or Man Utd or both will drop points on Monday. Arsenal or Spurs or both will drop points next weekend too as they play each other.

Whatever happens against Man Utd, 3 games in we are going to be in the mix which is all we could ask for.

it is not about dropping players as no player should think they are guaranteed a starting 11 position. without competition, they pretty much are.
fact remains, we need a good attacking mid and probably either a top centre half to compete, as he obviously doesnt rate skrtel, or a decent, dominating def mid

Why does someone need to get dropped?
And since when do we play stoke and villa 19 teams each.

Different teams require different options and set ups and also, is it realistic to assume that todays 13 players will play 38 league games this season plus 5(?) cup games?

£20 - 30m pound players don't go jumping on the first boat up the Mersey any more.
He'd be great for £7m.

That'll push our Summer spend to an eye watering +£5m.

Not playing on a Thursday night will help us this season as we just don't have the 22 senior players in the squad quite yet that we need. A couple more good signings will help us push for a top 4 position.

It certainly will. Rodgers will have more time with the players in between games.

At times last season it was a league game, 1 day off and then traveling to a Europa league game, then travel back and then another league game. He would have found it hard to put his ideas across.
