Eriksen

@tancredipalmeri: And Ajax's Overmars confirms that Eriksen is in talks with Tottenham.

Geez I hope there's a signing or two before Monday.

Reincarnated.

I'm so sick of hearing how FSG 'saved our club'. It's totally irrelevant. Hitler saved Germany from economic disaster. That turned out well!

You're entitled to your opinion, maybe I was wrong to question that. However, for you to question the support of others just because their opinion differs from yours is idiotic. And just because we disagree with you doesn't mean you 'shouldn't bother debating' with us.

It's not in FSG's interests to spend money on a business they have no intention of progressing. You really need to think about what the term 'supporting your club' means.

===========

Firstly the most valuable clubs are the most successful ones. There are plenty of ways to yield dividends from 300m that don't involve football. In fact the only way FSG will see a sizeable return on their investment is if Liverpool become more successful both commercially and in terms of marketability.

Secondly, don't know what it means to be a supporter? Interesting. My definition includes wanting Liverpool to succeed but knowing that I'll still support them through disappointment. Whether you like it or not FSG are part of Liverpool at the moment.

You see shortlight, it's easy to be negative. No risk. If you're right then it's a told you so, if you're wrong then it's a happy to be proved wrong. If much more challenging to be a supporter that tries to see the positive through ups and downs. That to me is a real supporter.

Downing wasn't that bad, but he wasn't worth £20 million. He did his best and unlike Suarez didn't throw his dummy out of his pram at the slightest criticism. He worked hard. The jury's out on Borini but Allen is showing signs of improvement.

Carroll was a waste because he didn't fit into Rodgers' 'system' whatever the hell that is. Rodgers got his eye wiped when he realised too late Carroll was loaned to West Ham and suddenly we had no one to back up Suarez. until the January when we got Sturridge.

It's not just FSG's fault, it's also the fault of the negotiation skills of our scouts. If we'd got Sturridge in the summer like we should have instead of January then last season might have been different. Dempsey might have stayed and not beggared off back to the US.

Shortsight is right in a way. We are grateful to FSG after the H&G crp but we can't stand about doffing our caps to them forever.

Really? You're going to compare the owners of the club to natzi leadership? Thats a pretty tasteless thing to do. You really are a class A moron.

And speaking of being sick of hearing about something, I can empathise with you. I, and most other people on here are sick of hearing you contriobute absolutely nothing to the site whatsoever. You lurk around waiting to find the right article so you can once again spew your hatred for all to see. You are the most worthless person on these boards by a logn way.

And you can't sinply turn around and label this wee rant as me being pro-fsg and not wanting to lsiten to others opinions. There are plenty of anti-fsg people on these boards that contribute and are respected. I'll listen to their opinions all day long. You, however are a worthless little troll who can just feck right off as far as i am concerned.

The window is still open though. Like R1 says, the owners should be scrutinised of we don't make any signings, but I still think we will see a new face or two before it closes.

SL ruffles feather on here, but unlike some fans on here I also don't have what sometimes appears the blind faith in the owners others have.

After having our fingers badly burned by the two cowboys, I will consider scrutiny of our owners words and actions to be healthy. They have made some mistakes, we all know that, but they have also done some good. I consider myself cautiously optimistic, but it's important they embrace an ambitious attitude. A negative net spend when TV money is up, revenue is up and wages are down, gives plenty of ammo to their critics.

Actually it was the allies agreeing to end reparations that saved the German economy, or at least was the most important element. Lets save the history lessons for another thread though ey.

Sorry, Shortlight

Yes, the German analogy was a bit tasteless.

Having said that they lost the war but their economy is much better than ours now...which is why we have very few if any British companies left and foreign owners of our footie clubs!
