Hopefully in a month or two, Moyes will see sense and put out a team like this:
De Gea
Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra
New CM Carrick
Nani Rooney Kagawa

I thought both teams were a bit poo really.

This. Have never seen a Liverpool defend as much as that. Even under Hodgson they showed more intent.
Unfortunately, going forward United struggled. Cue match ratings of 8's and 9's for Liverpool and 4's, 5's and 6's for United, when the reality was it was pretty level.

Everyone keeps picking teams and putting Carrick in them. If he keeps playing like he did today, he needs replacing as well

I'm sure you would agree and say that that wasn't a performance befitting of Manchester United- current champions of the Barclays Premier League. I'm sure we have the ability to perform much better than we did today and hence we under-performed. Read through the comments on this thread and see the despair of the posters to get an idea. We probably deserved a draw, but we really should be showing a better account of ourselves in games like this.

Can someone enlighten me as to what Cleverley excels at. He only ever passes backwards, he can't play long balls, he doesn't play though balls, he's weak, he's not exactly quick, he has no authority, no influence, can't shoot, doesn't offer much defensively...
I know he's a 'tidy' player but come on, we're United, why are we settling for an average CM

@Smalling_Jones: Exactly. Cleverly would be useful if we were playing someone more authoritative and aggresive alongside, but with Giggs and Carrick, Cleverly is useless.
The slow pace of our build up today prompted me to think we might be turning into Inter Milan, too many old players, not enough quality young players or those who haven't been played( Kagawa). Moyes, all his life, was used to playing defensive football, and so now doesn't know what to do when his team are favourites.
