Take a look at this analysis of Cleverley's performance against Liverpool. He seemed to always look wide or maybe was made to (due to lack of movement and Liverpool screening their defense well) and failed to break down the Liverpool defense.
Talking Tactics: Liverpool’s game plan exposes Cleverley’s limitations

He is a decent ball carrier and has a good work rate but i think he is at his best when he has players close to him and can play quick one-twos. I don't think he has what it is to play alongside Carrick as he lacks the passing and shooting range of Scholes. Maybe if we had Kagawa ahead of him instead of Giggs it would have eased the burden on him.
I hope he improves under Moyes and proves me wrong though.

Has he.? What exactly has he done at Premier League level?

Yeah he's almost a year younger but has scored more premier league goals than Cleverley has, despite being in a worse team.

That doesn't mean he has done more at premier league level. It just means he has scored more goals.

In Henderson's last season at Sunderland he was 3rd in the league for key passes. He's starting to add goals to his game and imposing himself more.
I think people just see Cleverley not improving as much. I think there is a decent player in there and England need as many technical footballers as possible.

Poor comment, even by your post history Suso.
Wellbeck scored one more that Gerrard the other night, but I wouldn't say he did more, would you?

Hoody,
I think Henderson plays much further up the pitch than Cleverley does, and from where he played with Sunderrland. I am sure Lucas and Stevie play predominantly behind him, which does give him the chance to get into better forwrd positions.
The lad is definately looking better than he did early on last season.

There's no question that a player like Coutinho would run rings around Cleverley..

Also thing is that for years United has overperformed with Fergie, now tables are turning, and I'm seeing Liverpool overperforming with Rodgers as I really don't see Moyes with that world class understanding of strategy, will make Utd average players look ordinary.

The way I see it is this, Cleverley at the moment is not United class. But then again, I could say that about a lot of players, some even at United (Young, old Giggs, out of form Valencia, Welbeck) but he (and Welbeck) can improve.
And to say he wouldn't get into the top 10 or 5 midfields in the Prem is a bit of a joke. If Henderson played his role in United, you could be sure that plenty of people will be saying the same thing about him that we are saying about Cleverley. Henderson isn't United class. But he doesn't play for a title challenging side, he plays for a team that is fighting for 4th and finished some places below that.
