Various media outlets are reporting that Hodgson will be playing Gerrard, Wilshire and Lampard against Ukraine tomorrow which will mean Carrick will miss out.
I thought that, as a nation, we recognised that one of the problems from the last 10 years or so was the England managers in-ability to select the best TEAM at the expense of the big names if those big names don't fit in with the team structure.
Now for me, England need to play with a holding midfielder away against Ukraine which would mean Carrick starts, Gerrard is the team captain so he also starts which mean either Wilshire or Lampard need to make way.
There's a lot of sentiment regarding Lampard potentially winning his 100th cap and fair play to him when he achieves it but a game of this importance surely requires some strong management and that means playing one of Lampard or Wilshire and England could be facing some serious questions come the end of the game if we go for 3 attack minded midfielders.

Sorry but even though I am a United fan I can see that Wilshere would walk into our midfield. He needs to stay fit that is the main thing. But he is one of the few English midfield players that can run with the ball and he has a good change of pace too. He needs to make more happen though in the final third. I rate him highly.

Although i hate to say it King was a superb defender he is just a , atleast we accept JT has his flaws, Spurs fans brush King racially abusing and punching a bouncer under the carpet, the hypocritical berks.

He was a great defender but their fans overrate him. Not as good as Sol, Terry or Camel lips.
