A common topic.........but seriously, what's with the LONG TERM INJURIES that we go through??! I am now starting to seriously believe that there is something extremely amiss with the setup at Arsenal FC.
Our players not only get injured but it is for months on end!!
Injuries happen.........BUT amongst the top 6 teams in the league the ONLY one with consistent and long term injury problems season after season is Arsenal!!
So....what the heck is going on here guys? Thre backroom? Training methods? Small suaqd? What.....because no doubt............something's amiss!!!
INJURIES!!!! What's wong with us??!!!

I think it's burnout. Vermelean, Wilshere and then Cazorla played nearly every game before they went on long term injury.
Hope Cazorla isn't long term!

Forget the league, we are the most injury prone team in the world.
It's actually bordering on disgraceful what happens season on season

A lot has been said about overplaying players when they are young. Micheal Owen had a pop at Liverpool for it. Maybe that has something to do with it. (Walcott, Van Persie, gibbs, fabregas to mention a few who had long term and niggling injuries, not neccesarily related to atrocious tackles ala Ramsey).

I'm pretty sure last season we were extremely lucky with injuries.

We were incredibly lucky last year all things considered.
Koscielny, Mertesacker, Jenkinson, Cazorla, Ramsey, Walcott, Giroud, Podolski, Oxlade Chamberlain, Gervinho, Arteta had no long term injuries last year, by this I mean anything longer than three/four weeks.
Add to that Vermaelen, Szceszny, Sagna were all around for the majority of last season too. Only Wilshere, Gibbs, Diaby, Rosicky and Fabianski had fairly long term injuries last year yet all still contributed to the team last season.
We were gifted with injuries last year and if say we lost Giroud, Walcott, Cazorla, Mertesacker or Arteta for any extensive period of time I don't believe we would have made top four.
Frankly our thin squad this season is a bit of media over hype, its only thin at the moment because of the injuries. But is this not what a squad is for? Have injured players and still have enough quality to compete and pick up three points. That's what we are doing at the moment so there's no need to complain too much, players will start to filter back in over the next few weeks and things won't look so bad.
People look at our bench and say "ahhhh our squad is too thin!" That is a bench that would be full of senior players if they were fit. You can't just buy hundreds of players, in case eight first teamers get injured at once, what do you do when they are fit and you're stuck with a load of extras that can't play. I'll tell you what you leave them to play in the reserves and weigh down the wages bill. Did we not just get rid of a huge bulk of deadwood? Yes another striker would have been nice, but you win some you lose some.
Wenger's and Giroud's "concerns" are because of the injuries, not the players we actually have in the squad. Wenger trimmed the fat this summer of players who are either not contributing enough on the field or not good for the overall team morale, which we can all admit feels better now than it has in years. No one could have anticipated we would lose so many players in such a quick succession, but so far it hasn't affected the table, they only game we've dropped points was when we had the most players available. The next few weeks things will start to ease up and we'll see the regular players return to our bench and first eleven, and this thin squad nonsense can be put to rest.

A lot comes down to overplaying players and the type of players Wenger has gone for post Invincibles
Wenger goes for small physically undeveloped, small framed, technical players instead of tall strong pacey athletes like we used to have.
Can you imagine Giroud playing 36 out of 37 games like Henry did in our unbeaten season? Also notice how quickly Bale recovered from that recent freak ankle injury and how quickly he recovered. Now imagine if that was any of our players. They'd probably be out for the rest of the season. Maybe our medical staff and training methods aren't as effective as they are at other clubs.
