Round 2 to The Wally

He has also won the second round with much more adventurous tactics. A great game and a great result.

But didn't Nigel's squad do well? They were brilliant and the better tactics of Steve McLaren gave us a really encouraging performance. A very good combination so far.

Owen Bradley's performance as an interviewer left a lot to be desired. He made a few clumsy attempts to get the Head Coach and 2 or 3 players to say something controversial. He failed.

I personally can't see what Derby fans' problem is with McClaren. I think people need to enlighten me.
Or would they of prefarred appointing a lower league manager based on his name. Maybe Mansfield's Cox.

Richmond, Macca was top at Christmas, third come Feb and sacked him hardly poor was it.

To say the dutch league is somehow a poor cousin so to speak its still a better quality than the championship.

Richmond, I've spoke to Boro mate and he said looking back the day he walked out on them is the day they started to slide. Sounds very familiar. He won them their 1st major trophy, got them to the UEFA cup final. Yeah he has made mistakes...at least he admits that. To hear Clough talk he was so perfect that he never made any mistakes....TBF to Clough he did nearly take Burton into the league spending more money than the other non-league teams. Oxford went up spending alot less than Burton under Chris Wilder who also did a good job turning Alfreton around before being appointed by Oxford and he's still there. Would the Derby fans of been happy if we'd appointed Wilder instead of Clough? No because he was a non-league manager and the club would of been accused of showing no ambition.
If Clough is good he'll get another Championship job....However I can't see it. I think the best he could hope for is Notts County

I have family in that neck of the woods and all have nothing but good things to say about McClaren and state like Amber their slide started not long after Macca left.

McClaren will be judged by the media negatively for taking the England job when the sensible thing to do was walk. To judge him on the joke he faced at forest is equally naive in my book.

The guy is an excellent coach and has a proven track record.

I don't see why we can't just get behind the guy as he and his team have brought some excitement and pride back to my Saturdays something Clough had not done for sometime.

I don't think it's Derbys fans (plural) - more Derby fan (singular).

Richmond and Ramdini are obviously the same poster - and he/she/they are probably Jill Gallone of the DET in real life.

I can see Nigel at Notts County - and he'd do a good job too. Anyone who looks past the sensationalist headlines will discover McClaren has coaching ability in abundance, and come on, he didn't exactly do us any harm the last time he was here, did he? fans that continue to throw brickbats at him as we move forward will just look dafter and dafter.

I'm working with two Boro fans ATM and the night before Clough was sacked we were talking about Steve McClaren in the pub after work. Both wished Mowbray would do one and that McClaren would come back.

I know there was talk of Sunderland making a move for Steve McClaren around 2 days before Clough went. Maybe Rush thought he'd better make a move and get his man before someone else did
