Well deserved but we all know a contract mean feck all these days.
----
why do people always say it? the contract is a legally binding document that means that unless we decide to sell him, or he runs his contract down to expiry, then he plays for spurs, not any other club side. if a contract truly means nothing then i suggest we get messi ronaldo and ibrahomivic to play for us this weekend

Messi and ibra, not crybaby ronaldo
I'm sure in the minority but it's just my thoughts - I'm not convinced by him yet. Although development can take place at different ages for different players, if he was really that promising surely we'd have given him his chance earlier? Over recent years the likes of silva, mata, aguero, ozil, eriksen etc have all been much further advanced earlier in their careers.

yeah, i am not convinced townsend will make it at spurs in the long run,.. but he is certainly giving it his best shot, and deserves his new deal and his place in the side.

Players kick on at different stages...:like triffic said today....
Maybe shinning for qpr last season finally convinced him he cld do it at the top level.
Also....may just be suited to international football.....!?

Great news
I think Andros is the perfect example of the challenges that young English players face, and the attitude they need, to succeed at the top of English football.
He could have left us on at least one occasion, and stayed on a fraction of what he could earn elsewhere to prove himself and become the player he is.
He's a shining light amongst the "crisis" of our national game.. fair play to AVB for giving the lad the chance to shine too..
