I always feel that tight games, have an element of luck in them. So many what if's. How many times have we seen a red card given for a shoulder in the face. Remember Viera? Our goal, which was disallowed; hitting the post; but our defensive errors were unforgivable. I hope the team have learned from this match.
I fear however that defence will still be a problem for Arsenal. How many clean sheets have we had this season? And stray passing when playing tick-a-tac football. Some of the stuff that Arsenal produce at close quarters is brilliant. When it comes off it's amazing; but a slight misjudgement can prove fatal, when the opposition get the ball and steam up to our end; and it often happens.
I don't think losing by one goal is a tragedy - but it wasn't bad luck that lost us the game. It was bad defending. I hope the video of the mistakes is shown over and over again to our players. Because we could have won and should have had a draw, on the balance of play.
All credit to Dortmund however. Their defensive weakness, about which I heard and read, was a myth. Oh: and we really need Walcott imo.
Luck and misfortune

I think you mean elbow, not shoulder.

If the elbow was given that would have been very harsh IMO. The disallowed goal was only in the net because the defence were all standing there because the whistle had blown. Ramsey wouldn't have scored otherwise

It wasn't "disallowed", as such - it happened after the whistle had blown so never really happened at all. And you can't possibly say Ramsey wouldn't have scored otherwise, no-one can, either way.

Correct. I did mean the elbow. Also, I didn't hear the whistle and was left wondering why the goal was not given. So sorry for that. We've been given harsh decisions at Champions League level. Henry's goal which was disallowed, despite the ball hitting his stomach and with no protest from the opposing keeper. Then there was rvp's card for not hearing the whistle. An elbow in the face usually merits a red card in the Premiership. I've seen it so often, when it was probably unintentional. Mind you, I remember seeing Ian Wright pushing someone in the face and he got away with it.

I've seen Ian Writght as a pundit, he somehow gets away with that too.
