As for the portrait thing....its been covered numerous times in that it was GIFT for his CHARITY work. He was quite rightly proud to show the gift off...again, straw grasping.

If we want to see a hypocrit, watch fergusons interview with john snow...he doesnt hold a grudge you know!!

Sir Alex Ferguson seems to have made a slight U-turn on his opinions of Steven Gerrard. In an interview with the Sunday Times in 2004, Ferguson waxed lyrical about Liverpool's talisman.
He compared him to a young Roy Keane and claimed that - at the time - Gerrard was more effective than Patrick Vieira.
Ferguson said: 'He has become the most influential player in England, bar none. Not that Vieira lacks anything, but Gerrard does more.
'To me, Gerrard is Keane. He is where Keane was when Roy came to us in 1993. Everywhere the ball is, he is there.'


im guessing gerrard swerving him and then winning the CL really made old bacon hit the bottle...he obviously still has recovered from that knock back

SAF is right anyway, Gerrard was never a top top player. At least not as a CM. Perhaps as a support striker when paired with Torres, but in central midfirkd he wasn't cultured enough.

Rodgers had one last response to Ferguson’s jibes, when asked about the claim he is eight players away from winning the title:

“Eight? Well at least that’s probably two less than they need to win the league then....!”
