Phew, we dodged a bullet there.

Thank god that didn't happen.

Great player but just don't rate him as a coach.

Im happy with what we have.

The former England Under-21s coach confirmed he received an approach from Jackett to join his backroom team in the summer.

He was approached to be a member of our backroom staff as far as I can tell from this sentence Perton

I had dinner with Stuart Pearce in 1987. It was at Wembley, (I think in the Conference Centre), right after England had thrashed Turkey 8-0. He was a quiet unassuming young man in those days.

Pearce would have been happy to join Wolves because of the size of the club, but the 1990 World Cup semi-finalist wanted to be manager, not a coach or a number two.

But he wanted the managers job not coach or no2 dj

Yes he did perton, but we didn't dodge a bullet with that because that wasn't what we offered him

But that's what he wanted, so we did dodge a bullet, because if he had been offered the managers job he would have taken it so we dodged a bullet.

But we already had a manager called Kenny Jackett and it was him that offered Pearce a backroom post. Do you think he might have offered him his own job?

Perton can't you see what you're saying doesn't make the best of sense?

You mean 'phew we dodged a hypothetical bullet there'

There's no more reason to suggest Moxey would of offered the job to Pearce then Warnock or Dowie who also would probably take the job, there is no point posting articles about things that didn't happen.

I met him when he came to a music festival in Hereford when the Stranglers were playing and I was part of Security.

Perton may like to know that he is an absolutely great, unassuming guy who has time for everyone and told me he thought Wolves were a great club he would have loved to have played for. And as someone who saw him play many times I take that as a high compliment.

He might be a nice guy Wolfgang and I saw him play quite a lot to, but I wouldn't want him as a manager.
