I have been to Russia (Moscow specifically) and most of the people are normal who get on with their lives like me and you. I did see some black/asian people get awkward stares at times and I felt this was crude but maybe this is due to the lack of multiculturism in Russia.
That aside however I didn't see much to suggest that Russians are racist fanatics and a boycott is needed in 2018. My personal view is that some Russian foootball fans are crazy bástards who have just been brought up in a poor environment which affects them.
Anyone got any thoughts on the issue?
Is it really that bad

Are you calling Crooks an imbecile?
I have many years ago been the victim of racism and also physically fought it.
Russia is a racist society and has been for hundreds of years, its in the blood. Furthermore their government promotes intolerance so not sure why anybody is really surprised.
I think its disgusting how they abuse certain players and even worse, UEFA and FIFA do f all. They should adopt a zero tolerance attitude. By not taking the hardest line possible, we are allowing this to manifest and breed.
These racists have no place in our society and if they dont play by the rules, then they should be kicked out.

Yes, both managers condemned racism and he criticised them for it but unlike you and Crooks thought they'd wait for proof being condemning CSKA fans.
Nothing is in anybody's blood, people are people and it's how the individual is which defines them, not which country they are from.
I'll assume you're Spanish and thus know very well about the issues in Spain regarding racism. It happens in every country only here in the UK, we like to criticise only countries for it more as we can sensationalise it more without people catching on.

what more proof do they want or are expecting?

That it actually happened, not just the player claiming it did. Now I'm not saying Toure would do this as he seems like a good lad but a person could claim it did when it didn't, it would be the first such case. A person could be mistaken in what they heard etc etc.
I've heard from several City fans at the ground saying they heard nothing, the referee apparently heard nothing and CSKA say they heard nothing, so please, let's get some proof first.

ok. well from what i saw and heard, to me, it was quite clearly monkey chants. And if it wasnt where is the explanation from the CSKA fans themselves?
Have you watched the news clip?

I haven't seen the clip. I watched the game but didn't hear monkey chants. CSKA have put out a comment, its fans, like other clubs' fans don't have the medium to do so.

TOOR... If you honestly believe that this country is as violent and intolerant as russia then you really are a bit light in the head.
Getting a couple of people giving you funny looks and throwing a couple of drunken punches is not the same as pummelling someone'ss face into the ground whilst the police intentionally pretend nothing's happening

If you don't believe that there are just as bad incidents of violence in the UK as Russian then you're an ignorant halfwit.
I've seen people getting kicked in the head here also. I've seen police standing and doing nothing also. Happens every summer here.
Also when I was in Spain, a bouncer called me back as I had my pint in my hand and asked me to pour it into a plastic cup. When I went back to do it, he pulled a telescopic pole out and hit me across the eye, splitting my eye open and guess who watched it? The police. When I went to ask them why they didn't do anything, they looked at me in disgust and called me a drunk English idiot and walked on.
As I said it happens everywhere but people are so easily brainwashed they believe everything they read and because they haven't experienced something for themselves, believe it doesn't happen, as the press tell them so.
I mean if you're so ignorant, I'm sure you can find plenty of videos on Youtube or other such sites of people in the UK being beaten badly but one would think that it's common sense that this happens here. Maybe that's a trait you lack.

Oh look - 7 o'clock news and two British soldiers standing in front of a Union Flag, doing N azi salutes but no no, that'a not possible, that could only happen in Russia, no way could us Brits possibly do that.
