"Sir"?

Hey up Reds,

I read on a Daily Mirror thread (I know – its c-rap) some Reds slagging off Brendan for referring to Fergie in his presser as “Sir Alex". Some posters compared this to Woy’s ridiculous kowtowing.

I for one love the fact Kenny calls him Fergie. Kenny kept his comments on anything Fergie related in the media to a minimum but there were times when he spoke with thinly disguised disdain for the man. I feel that Kenny did this because he felt that on many occasions over the years they went head to head – Kenny got more than his fair share of victories and all of the games biggest prizes on his shelf. Therefore he sees Fergie as an equal and an adversary – nothing more.

(Note – I loved Kenny’s pressers. He always called journos out on stupid or loaded questions).

Brendan is different. He’s more open and relaxed with the media. I think as a manager of clear talent, he’s still only 40 and has yet to achieve anything significant in the game. Therefore, even though it doesn’t sit right hearing it I can understand why he refers to Fergie as “Sir Alex".

I’m inclined let this one pass.

What you lot reckon?

Loved it when Suarez lied to father jack and jack looked like a rabbit in the headlights in the Sky interview.

JP McManus and John Magnier are two men who really give fergie a real good lesson in life.

He lost all cred as being astute after that debacle.

Have a little look at this blog written by the gooners, very interesting and close to the truth.

A real humbling for the bully.

Brenda on Liverpool

"But this is a club that has class and history and in the modern era is fighting to get back to that level again"

Yeah......really showed it's class last year didn't it?

Manager and players wearing a t shirt to defend a player found guilty of racism.

Sheer class !!!

Even in retirement, Fergie is still winding up the scousers. Love it.
-------------------------------------
He wasn't found guilty of racism. The FA guessed and decided to believe one man over another, on the balance of probability on whether RACIAL ABUSE had occurred.

It's been so long now, it's crazy how many are still uneducated on this. I guess there's no educating the stupid.

Yes, it is. Read the report. They believed one man over another on the balance of probability. They used their opinion to decide who they believed. Anyhow I'm not getting into it all again, it's been done to death, just thought I'd point out the idiot.

Wow, not many comments actually responding to the main thrust of the article - as in what to LFC supporters think of the way Brendan refers to Fergie?

To those non LFC posters talking about Kenny. I put that in there to provide the context for what Brendan is now saying. Wether you appreciate it or not, Kenny refused to play the game with journos looking to pack out there offal filled Tabloids with controversial ones liners to feed the outrage addicted masses. It was not an effective tactic because as we know what they don't get their happy to make up ad infinitum.

I admire Kenny for that. I don't expect you lot to agree - nor do I care

I don't think anything about it. Some people who don't speak for me, decided to add a few letters onto a person's name and another person decided to use those letters, some don't.

Honestly, I really don't it matters what Rodgers calls him. Ferguson was given a knighthood therefore Sir Alex is the correct way to address him, I don't see that as being in any way deferential or weak.

Rodgers strikes me as something of a student of football and respectful of the achievements of others; fine by me.

Sterling Work

Well put. I think I agree with that

Like him or not , no one can deny the mans achievements ! That is what the knighthood is for and well deserved. Rodgers is just showing due respect even if fergie can be a twit at times
