I think this kid is exceptional. Possibly the best I have ever seen and with Detorri suspended for Ascot i'm hoping he gets dettori mounts. What do others think of the french wonder kid?

i think hes very good, but nearly lost it with his showing off.i hope hes not going to be another dettori in the way he shows off

He is only 19 triptych, his first ride in the derby so maybe he was entitled to a bit of a celebration. The horse was exceptional imo to make that ground up. Yes giving a lot to do but this kid seems to keep winning group ones last week he came over for Larooj won 11-1 and yesterday the derby. He definitely has summat about him.

the lad was unfazed and i'm sure his 'relaxed' style helped the horse,so take nothing away from him he does look exceptional, his celebration will be remebered by all who saw it!!!!
do hope he rides more ,think he rode for godolphin the other week--a winner for al zarooni if i remember.
All the pre race hype about knowing epsom etc was well and truly exposed for the tripe it is!

i agree, would be a natural successor to dettori for godolphin

I have just read fabre's comments. The plan was to ride him that way all the time, right from the back as the trainer stated he has more speed than peintire celebre this must be some horse as well.

His strike rate in the UK for Al Zarooni this year is 50%. Not too shabby at all. He really looks the part.
I think I'll be backing laajooj in the Royal hunt Cup next week.
Incidentally, how crass was Claire Balding's handling of the presentation? The kid doesn't speak very good english but she's fluent in French so could have spoken to him and transalted at the sanme time. Alterntaively, I am guessing Andre fabre's french isn't too bad so he could have done it. They must have known there was a good chance Pour moi would win so they could and should have had a plan in place. Presumably they were too busy looking for excuses as to why the queen's horse got beaten .

I totally agree Bob. The lad hardly got any credit at all just cast in the role of villain for the queen's horse not winning. I also took exception to them saying every one was hoping for a royal winner. I certainly wasn't I detest royalty.

Fair dos Mr Jam fan! On Saturday morning although i obviously wanted the one i'd backed to win I felt that i wouldnlt have minded too much if Carlton house had won. However, the way the presenters on the BBC went on and on and on about there being only one result the public wanted I was actually glad he got beaten.
Must admit I had a wry smile about the connections too - an Irish owned, French trained french ridden horse beating Her Maj and parading round the track with a tricolour- every little Englander's worst nightmare

A very humble man came to the school I attended when i was a young lad, erm, obviously. Anyway, it was Bob Paisley and he was asked his attitude to all his success. He said in a very soft voice to remember to be humble in victory but gracious in defeat. Maybe the BBC presenters should remember that.

It was 1995 all over again. Uncallable at two furlongs out. I really enjoyed the race.
