Will The Natural Disaster in

The Philippines affect Pacquiao's preparations, mental state and as a result the outcome of the fight?

The Philippines has been hit by a massive typhoon claiming the lives of tens of thousands and affecting millions.

The country is in a state of national emergency, with the government struggling to cope with getting aid to its people.

Pacquiao is not only a member of that government but also a patriotic man who cares immensely for his people.

The disaster will undoubtedly affect Pacquiao, more likely to his detriment.

Berto had to cancel his fight with Mosley in January 2010 because of the natural disaster that hit Cuba.

Should Pacquiao do the same or pay a hefty price in the ring?

No I don't think it will. He's not gna go back out the Philippines to see the people. It would have affected him even more mentally if he did. The whole country although in a terrible tragic situation need Manny to fight and bring them a little bit of joy right now.

d4 - Do you think Mayweather will announce his opponent before the Pac fight? Looking unlikely,

If he not going to back out he will not be 100% on his fight game.

It looks to be Khan for Mayweather, he just wants to find the right time to announce it.

This might even spur him on. Do it for the people of his nation.

Berto head was in such a mess he had to pull out, Pacquiao is far more connected to his people than Berto.

Focus during a training camp and a fight is vitality important.

More garbage from D4. I remember him claiming Pacquiao taking the kids to school effecting preparation.

Maybe a soulless creature like your self won't be affected by such a tragedy, but Pacquiao will be and will put in perspective how their is much more important things in life than boxing.

Not many fighters are ever the same again after suffering a devastating KO like he did.

And he is almost 35 now, past his prime for a fighter his size and the type of fighter he is.

It could have a detrimental effect, but it could also be an incentive as he is regarded as a demi god in his home country.
