Well hello and welcome to this week’s reports addition in the Dreams League.
Well we have 5 cracking games to get through tonight, so let’s bring on the team news.
Harrogate 2-2 Salisbury
Harrogate:
Courtois, Azpilicueta, Hummels, Vertonghen, Cole, Kondogbia, Luiz, Iniesta, Messi, Tevez, Hazard
Subs:
Schar, Xavi, De Bruyne, Lamela, Acheampong
Salisbury:
Buffon, Zabaleta, Mascherano, Nastasic, Kolvarov, Yaya, Schneiderlin, Pogba, Walcott, Martinez, Ronaldo
Subs:
Foderingham, Pezzella, Tibbling, Remy, Unal
Harrogate scorers: Messi and Hazard – Assists - Iniesta for Messi, Messi for Hazard
Salisbury scorers: Ronaldo and Martinez – Assists – Pogba for Ronaldo, Ronaldo for Martinez
MOTM: Luiz
Reason behind the result:
I thought Harrogate would dominate the game and Salisbury would be good on the counter. However Messi against Kolarov was a massive mis-match and Messi had him all day. Likewise Ronaldo against Azpilicueta was too. On the whole both sets of tactics were great but a draw was a fair result.
Southend 1-2 Burnley
Southend:
Mignolet, Ivanovic, Bonucci, Sakho, Ogbonna, Rose, Wanyama, Rakitic, Aguero, Pjanic, Negredo
Subs:
Thauvin, Sturridge, Florenzi, Eriksen, Blind
Burnley:
Ter Stegen, Corchia, Koscielny, Varane, Baines, Busquets, Flamini, Rodriguez, Fabregas, Ramsey, Rooney
Butland, Zouma, Illarramendi, Helenius, Jovetic
Southend scorer: Negredo (Aguero)
Burnley scorers: Ramsey and Rooney – Assist for Ramsey was from Fabregas and Fabregas assisted Rooney too
MOTM: Fabregas
Reason behind the result:
Tippy’s team is very good and well set up to go on the counter attack. However, I felt that the formation at home against a strong Burnley side was wrong as his side lacked width.
Aberdeen 1-0 Blackpool
Aberdeen:
Bardi, Clyne, Otamendi, Chiellini, Felipe, Bender, Vidal, Sanchez, Ozil, Neymar, Lukaku
Subs:
Medel, Emre, Son, Schurrle, Hernandez
Blackpool:
Leno, Rafael, Garay, Castan, Coentrao, Capoue, Schweinstiger, Pirlo, Dzagoev, Gaitan, RVP
Subs:
Taider, Kagawa, Nani, Townsend, Higuian
Aberdeen scorer: Lukaku (Sanchez)
MOTM: Ozil – created lots of chances for his team but they could only hit the net once.
Reason behind the result:
I thought that Aberdeen were the stronger of the two teams tactically and I felt that Blackpool lacked that creative man in the middle of midfield to link defence and attack that Aberdeen had.
Stockport 1-2 Dagenham
Stockport:
Begovic, Subotic, Pique, Jones, Alves, Carrick, Roberto, Alba, Herrera, Reus, Benteke
Subs:
Imbula, Powell, Januzaj, Fischer, Austin
Dagenham:
Lloris, Lahm, Silva, Ramos, Alba, Martinez. Gundogan, Muller, Gotze, Bale, Lewandowski
Subs:
Rossi, Balotelli, Draxler, Sven Bender, Dante
Stockport scorer: Benteke (Reus)
Dagenham scorer: Lewandowski x2 (Lahm + Pen)
MOTM: Martinez
Reason behind the result:
I think Stockport have massively improved their tactics since I last did a result for them. However, I think Dagenham at the end of the day had enough to see the home side off.
Shrewsbury 2-1 Cambuur
Shrewsbury:
Neuer, Piszczek, Boateng, Mangala, Marcelo, De Rossi, Kroos, Robben, Mata, Ribery, Ibrahimovic
Subs:
Schmelzer, Alonso, Cazorla, Di Maria, Mandzukic
Cambuur:
Koval, Fabinho, Marquinhos, Laporte, Sandro, Fernando, Romulo, Vargas, Firmino, Bernard, Mitroglou
Subs: Gabriel, Jorginho, Reyez, Ocampos, Zapata
Shrewsbury scorer: Ibrahimovic x2 (Robben, Ribery)
Cambuur scorer: Bernard – made the goal himself with a 25 Yard shot from the left side of the box
MOTM: Kroos
Reason behind the result:
I felt that Shrewsbury pressed hard today and made this tactic work against a very good side in Cambuur whose tactics were just as good. However, when Cambuur did have the ball Bernard caused Piszczek all sorts of problems..

Tenby vs The Lions
In a week where Di has announced she plans to leave the DL and in which Rap has continuously tried to ship Africans to other shores we have a game between both managers who may not be with us this time next season.
The game started well for Leiva’s team who played fast intricate football and were quick to win the ball back when out of possession. In fact the only thing Leiva’s team didn’t do right in the first 20mins is get the goal.
The first half was entertaining in the way the ball was being knocked about but in a way a little frustrating.
Although both teams tried to play the through balls, especially Leiva’s team who at times looked as if they had 3 strikers a lot of risks were avoided with sideways and backwards passing keeping possession.
One man who knows how to entertain is Luis Suarez. The second half began and Suarez received ball out wide after running on to a poor touch from PEA. Suarez wiggled through a total of three Tenby players leading to a shot that crashed against the upright.
This seemed to spark the game into life and in the next 40 minutes of football we have a penalty and 5 goals!
The first goal came as a result of poor communication between De Gea and Carvajal. Silva whipped in a looping cross in to the box in which only Torres was waiting for Tenby. However both De Gea and Carvajal decided they would go for the same ball. De Gea punched the ball but this was into the back of Carvajal’s head and the ball looped over the Spanish keeper and into the net. Horror show.
Things got better for the Lions as Suarez again managed to get a bit of room he looked for an opening and then he spotted Juan. Running towards the Tenby defender Suarez faked one way and Juan bought it…in he slid and down went Suarez…inside the box, Penalty for the Lions.
Nobody stood tall to take the penalty and Suarez was on the sidelines receiving treatment so wasn’t able to take it.
Leiva had no other choice he told Tenby they could choose who could take the spot kick… after a quick game of ip dip do it was decided by Tenby captain Godin; he decided to select Matuidi to take the kick. This meant Leiva had to rush his player on and off came Modric to make way for the oncoming penalty taker. Leiva also decided to bring on Isco at the same time.
After all the commotion Matuidi took the resulting spot kick and blazed it wham bam right into the centre of the goal…the spot being occupied by Victor Valdes’ face…penalty saved.
3 minutes later and Matuidi made up for his mistake… hitting a swift diagonal through ball to PEA he decided to maraud forward and get himself on the end of PEA’s cut back, his dummied shot took Godin out of the game and in slipped Suarez to get the equaliser.
From the resulting kick off Tenby played the ball back to Shaw…the full back spotted the run of Torres on the last man and his perfectly weighted through ball found the Spaniard, Torres was able to bring the ball inside the box and his shot was deflected on to the post… the ball rebounded into the danger area and boom! Michu helped re take the lead. Michu struggled today with how tightly pressed he was by the Lions but he took this goal well.
Tenby’s subs seemed to disjoint them today and replacing Paulinho whilst ahead may be looked back on with a tinge of regret Schone struggled to get himself used to the pace of this match and with Costa on for the Lions they became a whole different outfit.
Costa got the second equaliser of the game 3 minutes after coming on. Suarez played through the back by Isco and a clever improvised chip landed at Costa’s feet 4 yards away from goal…he couldn’t miss and didn’t.
Silva and Torres were replaced by Di late on in the game and this was met by sighs by the crowd. The two Spaniards had probably been the best two Tenby players today and the team seemed to get drawn in to the fans frustration.
A dodgy tackle by Wallace on PEA around 30 yards from goal seemed to have been a smart foul as it looked as if the pacey wide man would be bearing in on goal.
However with Luis Suarez in this kind of form you don’t want to give him a sniff of anything. The Uruguayan smashed a powerful free kick through a gap inthe wall and into the top of the right side of the goal.
It was all she wrote in a thrilling second half and the Lions fly back to Africaland with 3 much needed points.
Full Time:
Tenby 2 – 3 Lions
Scorers;
Tenby: Carvajal (OG), Michu (Torres)
Lions: Suarez (Matuidi), Costa (Suarez), Suarez (FK)
MOTM: Sometimes it’s a hard choice, but today Suarez was by far the best player on the pitch.
