Hull name change scenario at Arsenal

As some of you are aware Hull owners have decided to change the name to Hull Tigers from Hull City. Hull fans have been singing ' City till I die' which is in response to this and this has caused the owner to reply ' well die then'….

Now I understand the fans, as to them they are Hull City and Tigers is a nickname…….

What would we do if Kroenke decides to pump £500 Mil into Arsenal but only if we change the name to 'Arsenal Gunners Soccer FC'

Would we accept it ?

We are Arsenal or The Arsenal……Gunners is a nickname which every team has…..now for one I would reject it no matter if money is pumped in or not….Its not us…

So Question is (and other clubs can debate if you stick this scenario to your club…i.e Manchester Devils or Everton Toffees or Spurs Potatoheads… .) would you allow this, do you agree with Hull fans or do you think…so what ?

I doubt it'll happen to Arsenal. We are a global club changing the name affects the business.
However for hull, it's sounds American which can help them break into that market.

The OP is talking about the possibility of adopting cheesy American-style team names, to increase the revenue .Horrid thought!

To be fair the Hull fans did shoot themselves in the foot by singing "mauled by the tigers" to Liverpool.

Football clubs changing their name is nothing new. dial Square FC, Woolwich Arsenal, The Arsenal, Arsenal FC. This things change over time, the only certainty is that Spurs will be forever in our shadow

we should change the name to Red Squirrels, having guns and cannons and arsenal as the name is too violent these days. Fine 130 years ago, but not anymore.
