Brighton & Hove Albion v TOWN

253 miles Stadium to Stadium For Town fans on Saturday.
That would have to be a 5, maybe 6 hour journey darn the M1 & beyond..
Traffic,
M25 car park..
A 'Peace'..
Summert to eat = = = =
'Waltz' favorite away fixture too.
No draconian Dubai practices there Walt..

And don't think it's darn hill all the way..Oh No ! At 261 ft above sea level, The New ground is fully 26 ft 'higher' than the JSS .
Huh, Who'd a thought it

But GREAT news for ALL TOWN fans living in Dieppe ! Just a 4 hour crossing to New Haven by Ferry ..Way quicker than coming by Car/Coach from sHudderz .So a huge following anticipated.

Who'll be there.
Who won't.

Our defence is so much better without Clarke near it.

But you know he's getting straight back in, don't you?

Depends on the toss mate. If Australia win and bat first I doubt I'll bother as it's just getting dull and predictable. I want to see us thrown in at the deep end in front of 100,000, not chasing down 500 after tea on day two.

What can I say about yesterday's performance down at Brighton?

Well when we played Reading last week we played much more expansion, exciting and attacking football. Yesterday was never going to be a day where we played that way. The weather was awful, blowing a gale all over the place, chucking it down and as far as us fans were concerned it was bloody freezing cold. Yesterday was just as good a performance as the Reading game but in a different way.
Hard fought, well organised rugged performance. Every bit as pleasing to see. Brighton are no mugs and have quality all over the park and we pretty much frustrated them except for 2 occasions. Just after the 2nd half had started they missed a golden opportunity when Barnes couldn't control the ball when presented with a open goal and then later a cross to the far post where he put a free header wide. Other than that we dealt with pretty much everything they threw at us.
Some great blocks/tackles put in by Wallace and Gerrard throughout the game. We played some decent possession football at times and deserved the point we got.
The future is bright...it's blue and white...UTT!

It's encouraging to read that Wakey. Robins has the players playing different ways against different teams and we're getting quite good at whichever plan we adopt.

This ability to 'adapt' gives us much more strength as a team and can only give our players more confidence.

For the fans, we can see progress after much work behind the scenes by Robins and his staff..and that gives me a good feeling about our future.

It's funny how a 0-0 at rain swept Brighton has left so many fans with a feel good factor, it feels like we've turned the corner now and found a level of consistency which previously has eluded us.

The job isn't finished of course and it is vital we keep up the momentum and strive to progress. As Robins said in last nights Examiner, you can't stand still..

This leads me to Dean Hoyle now, and his willingness to support Robins with some cash in the transfer window. Given what he has had to work with, Robins is getting the best out of many of our players..but...we still need to strengthen the team. I would think Robins would be expecting some reward for his hard work by way of some cash...although I know all about balancing the books, the pathway concept we have and Financial Fair play rules.

It's a bit ironic therefor that gates are down on last season, and down on the season before in league one.
This has to be addressed and Sean Jarvis & Nigel Clibbens need to get their act together and show a bit more initiative to sort this out. Without the revenues we can't spend on new players..so it's vital.

I'm not very impressed at recent ad hoc 'special offers' as most fans fail to see these, and the stay away fans certainly won't. It's almost impossible to find these offers on the Town website, or spot them in other media outlets, so some work needs to be done.

With 600 Town fans less than last season that's 1/3rd £million, and we should actually be looking at another 1,000 fans each week, not less.

Overall though, I'm encouraged by recent performances..long may it continue
